THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH <br />PROJECT NO. 21-1011 <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT RELOCATION TO ANNEX <br /> <br />Project No. 21-1011 November 2024017400 CLEANING AND WASTE <br />MANAGEMENT-1 <br /> <br />SECTION 017400 <br />CLEANING AND WASTE MANAGEMENT <br /> <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br /> <br />1.1 DESCRIPTION: This Section specifies the maintenance of the work site in a clean, orderly hazard- <br />free condition. <br /> <br />1.2 QUALITY ASSURANCE: <br /> <br />A. Conduct cleaning and disposal operations in accordance with local ordinances and anti- <br />pollution laws. Rubbish, volatile wastes, and other construction wastes shall be neither <br />burned nor buried on the work site, and shall not be disposed of into storm drains, sanitary <br />drains, streams or other waterways. <br />B. The Contractor shall coordinate an Initial Walk-thru Inspection with the Representative, in <br />order to document by means of photographs and written notes, the existing conditions and <br />avoid any disputes regarding final acceptance by the City of Sunny Isles after the Final <br />Cleaning by the Contractor. <br />C. Final cleaning shall be accomplished either by workmen experienced in cleaning operations <br />or by professional cleansers. See Article 3.3 Final Cleaning, for Contractor’s responsibilities. <br /> <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br /> <br />2.1 CLEANING MATERIALS: Cleaning materials shall be as recommended by the manufacturer of the <br />surface to be cleaned. <br /> <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br /> <br />3.1 SAFETY REQUIREMENTS: <br /> <br />A. Maintain work site in accordance with local ordinances and anti-pollution laws applicable <br />to work site cleanliness and in a neat, orderly and hazard-free condition until final <br />acceptance of the work. Catwalks, accessible underground structures, work site sidewalks <br />and walkways adjacent to the work site shall be kept free from hazards caused by <br />construction activities. <br />B. No Volatile chemicals are to be used for cleaning purposes during construction and for final <br />cleaning. <br />C. Prevent accumulation of waste, which creates hazardous conditions. <br />D. Artificially ventilate spaces, which are not naturally ventilated when noxious substances <br />are being used in those spaces <br /> <br />3.2 INTERIM CLEANING: <br /> <br />A.
