�' •ppb-tau-�-a= r <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach <br />18070 Collins Avenue <br />Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160 <br />(305) 947-0606 City Hall <br />(305) 949-3113 Fax <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners <br />VIA: Stan Morris, City Manager. <br />FROM: Fabricio Volpi, Public Works Director. <br />DATE: February 20, 2025 <br />RE: Authorize Purchase of a 2025 ARBOC Low -Floor Shuttle Bus from Model 1 <br />Commercial Vehicles, Inc. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends approval of this Resolution. <br />REASONS: <br />It is recommended that the City Commission approve the purchase of one ARBOC Low -Floor Shuttle <br />Bus from Modell Commercial Vehicles, Inc. as part of the 2025 vehicle replacement plan in an amount <br />not to exceed $188,846.98 to continue providing safe, accessible, and efficient public transportation for <br />our residents. <br />Reasons for recommending this particular shuttle bus include: <br />1. Fleet Consistency& Standardization -The City previously purchased ARBOC Low -Floor Shuttle Buses <br />in Fiscal Year 2023/2024. Continuing with the same model ensures consistency in operations, <br />maintenance, and training. <br />2. Enhanced Accessibility -This bus is specifically designed to meet the needs of our older population <br />and individuals using mobility aids, providing a safer and more convenient transportation option. <br />3. Planned Fleet Replacement - This purchase aligns with the City's vehicle replacement cycle, which <br />follows a seven-year average lifespan to maintain safety, efficiency, and reliability. <br />Item Number: 9.13 <br />68 <br />
