Florida Senate - 2025 CS for SB 430 <br />581-02506-25 2025430cl <br />59 evidence -based core elements. <br />60 (2) School officials shall work directly with local <br />61 emergency service providers to integrate the CERP into the <br />62 community's emergency responder protocols. <br />63 (3)(a) No later than July 1, 2027, each public school, <br />64 including charter schools, must have at least one operational <br />65 automated external defibrillator on school grounds. The <br />66 defibrillator must be available in a clearly marked and <br />67 publicized location. Schools must maintain the defibrillator <br />68 according to the manufacturer's recommendations and maintain all <br />69 verification records for such defibrillators. <br />70 (b) Appropriate school staff must be trained in first aid, <br />71 cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and defibrillator use. <br />72 (c) The location of each defibrillator must be registered <br />73 with a local emergency medical services medical director. <br />74 (d) The use of defibrillators by school employees and <br />75 volunteers is covered under ss. 768.13 and 768.1325. <br />76 (4) Compliance with the requirements of s. 1006.165 does <br />77 not constitute compliance with this section. <br />78 (5) The State Board of Education shall adopt rules to <br />79 administer this section. <br />80 Section 3.
