F L O R I D A H O U S E O F R E P R E S E N T A T I V E S <br />CS/HB 1607 2025 <br />1 A bill to be entitled <br />2 An act relating to cardiac emergencies; amending s. <br />3 1003.453, F.S.; requiring, rather than authorizing, <br />4 school districts to provide training in basic first <br />5 aid to certain students; providing requirements for <br />6 such training; creating s. 1003.457, F.S.; requiring <br />7 each public school to develop a plan for urgent life - <br />8 saving emergencies (PULSE) for specified purposes; <br />9 requiring school officials to work with local <br />10 emergency service providers to integrate the PULSE <br />11 into emergency responder protocols; requiring public <br />12 schools, including charter schools, to have at least <br />13 one operational automated external defibrillator on <br />14 school grounds by a specified date; providing <br />15 requirements for the placement and maintenance of the <br />16 defibrillators; providing construction; requiring that <br />17 certain school staff receive specified training; <br />18 providing registration requirements for the location <br />19 of the defibrillators; providing immunity from <br />20 liability for school employees and volunteers under <br />21 the Good Samaritan Act and the Cardiac Arrest Survival <br />22 Act; requiring the State Board of Education to adopt <br />23 rules; providing an effective date. <br />24 <br />25 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: <br />Page 1 of 4 <br />CODING: Words stkkee are deletions; words underlined are additions. <br />M1607 -01-c1 <br />635 <br />
