<br />ITB 24-06-02 CITYWIDE LANDSCAPING SERVICES 41 <br /> <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH <br />18070 Collins Ave. | Sunny Isles Beach, FL 33160 <br />305.792.1707 | sibfl.net | Purchasing@sibfl.net <br />from the approved city vendor, contractor will be reimbursed for the purchase of materials and <br />equipment only, at actual cost to the Contractor, without mark-up, to maintain the Irrigation <br />System except where the repair or replacement results from damage caused by the Contractor. <br />Any damages resulting from accidents, vandalism, or an Act of God, are reimbursable to the <br />Contractor on a materials basis only with proper documentation and approval by the City. Any <br />necessary repairs, other than routine irrigation head replacement must be approved in writing <br />by the City prior to start of work. Under no circumstances will the City reimburse Contractor for <br />mark-up on material cost. <br /> <br />All repairs to the system shall be identical to the original installation, unless approved otherwise <br />in advance by the City. If a change to the installation or material will result in lower future <br />maintenance costs, less frequent breakage, or an increase in public safety, the Contractor shall <br />request authorization, in writing, to make the change for the City. Replacement of system <br />components shall be the same manufacturer and model as original equipment, or better, as <br />authorized by City. <br /> <br />Contractor shall submit a monthly wet-check report, or more frequently as required by the City, <br />at its sole discretion, to ensure the proper coverage is being achieved, and utilize this wet-check <br />report for proposals for repairs. In addition to wet checks, the Contractor shall provide meter <br />readings to verify viability of systems at least once per month, or more frequently as required <br />by the City, at its sole discretion. <br /> <br />3.6.1 IRRIGATION GENERAL CONDITIONS <br /> <br />All irrigation lines are to be flushed, cleaned, and maintained monthly, or as required to <br />maintain the required water flow. This shall include, but not be limited to, the adjustment of <br />the flow of water of irrigation heads so as to minimize or eliminate the flow of water onto the <br />public roadway, sidewalk and buildings, and the checking of breaks, and replacement of <br />broken or stolen heads. All valves, controllers, and other components must be maintained on <br />a regular basis at no additional charge. This will include, but not be limited to, the adjustments <br />of the controllers to ensure the correct amount of precipitation necessary for viable <br />vegetative growth, always following any South Florida Water Management District drought <br />guidelines. The Contractor shall check for breaks in the lateral lines. All irrigation breaks or <br />malfunctions must be repaired by the Contractor within twenty-four (24) hours notification <br />by City (including weekends). This includes all vehicular damage to irrigation and/or landscape <br />materials. Furthermore, all damages noticed by Contractor shall be reported to City Project <br />Manager(s) within twenty-four (24) hours. <br /> <br />Irrigation repairs and maintenance shall not be sub-contracted. Contractor shall have <br />sufficient labor, materials, tools, equipment, and qualified and certified supervision to <br />adequately maintain irrigation systems to the City’s specifications and be approved by the <br />City. <br /> <br />COLLINS AVENUE MEDIAN <br />
