trailers and construction site offices, are often classified as manufactured buildings under FEMA
guidelines. These structures, when placed within Special Flood Hazard Areas (SFHAs), pose similar flood
risks and therefore must comply with the same elevation requirements.
The revised ordinance will require that any new manufactured structures installed or replaced in SFHAs
be elevated to at least the Base Flood Elevation (BFE) plus one foot, as mandated by the updated CRS
Class S prerequisites.
This requirement will apply to all new permit applications involving manufactured structures submitted
after the ordinance is adopted on second reading. Existing temporary structures will not be retroactively
affected but must comply with applicable standards in the event of replacement, relocation, or if
substantially improved.
ATTACHMENTS:
Ordinance
Item Number: &A
102
