<br />City of Sunny Isles Beach <br />NE 174th Street Roadway Improvements <br />329301 - 6 Transplanting <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />A. Disposal of Trash: All debris and other objectionable material created through planting operations <br />and landscape from the job or as directed by the Design Consultant. Excess soil shall be disposed <br />of as directed by the Design Consultant. <br /> <br />B. Responsibility for Protection and Restoration of Property: The Landscape Subcontractor shall be <br />responsible for all damage to property whether it be accidental or necessary for the completion of <br />the contract. <br /> <br />C. Protection Against Mechanical Damage: The Subcontractor's responsibility for protection against <br />mechanical damage shall include providing protection from vehicles and providing warning signs <br />and barricades as might be necessary and he/she shall repair, restore and replace any planting <br />areas which become damaged as a result of any negligence of the Subcontractor or his/her <br />employees in complying with these requirements. Coordination shall be with the Owner and the <br />Design Consultant. <br /> <br />D. Responsibility Prior to Final Acceptance: <br /> <br />1. Maintenance Prior to Inspection for Completion: <br />a. Maintenance shall begin immediately after each plant is planted and continue until <br />final acceptance. <br />b. Plants shall be soaked thoroughly by hose each day for the first two weeks (14 <br />calendar days) and every other day for the following two-week period. Soaking then <br />shall continue on a twice weekly basis or until irrigation system is operational and <br />signed off on by Landscape Architect and irrigation contractor. <br />c. Plant maintenance shall include watering, pruning, weeding, cultivating, mulching, <br />tightening and repairing of guys, stakes, braces, etc., replacement of sick or dead <br />plants, resetting plants to proper grades or upright position and maintenance of the <br />watering saucer, and all other care needed for proper growth of the plants. Plant <br />material rejected during the course of construction shall be removed within 5 <br />working days and replaced before the inspection for completion will be scheduled. <br />d. Spraying and Dusting: During the maintenance period and up to the issuance of <br />certificate of final acceptance, the Subcontractor shall do all seasonal spraying and/or <br />dusting of all planting. The materials and methods shall be in accordance with <br />highest standard nursery practices and as recommended by the County Agent, and <br />approved by the Design Consultant, through the Inspector prior to implementation. <br />Any chemical treatments requiring a license shall be by provided and applied by a <br />licensed Subcontractor according to State regulations. <br />e. Protection: Planting areas and plants shall be protected against trespassing and <br />damage according to local requirements or their plans. If any plants become <br />damaged or injured they shall be treated or replaced, as directed by the Inspector and <br />in compliance with these specifications. No work shall be done within or over <br />planting areas or adjacent to plants without proper safeguards and protection. <br /> <br />PART 4 - MEASUREMENT OF PAYMENT <br /> <br />A.
