Maritime Issues
Pittman Law Group has extensive experience advancing maritime, seaport, and coastal
infrastructure priorities for local governments and public agencies across Florida. The firm has
successfully secured state funding for shoreline stabilization, dredging, and port access
improvements while safeguarding local taxing City and control over port operations. Notably, PLG
effectively opposed the Port of Palm Beach's efforts to amend its governing charter and eliminate
the client’s taxing City, thereby preserving vital revenue streams for maritime and waterfront
development. The firm’s strong relationships with the Florida Ports Council, the Department of
Transportation, and the Department of Environmental Protection enable them to align local
maritime priorities with state and federal funding programs. Whether advocating for coastal
resilience, harbor maintenance, or port expansion projects, PLG combines legislative expertise
with technical knowledge to help Florida’s maritime communities remain economically
competitive, environmentally secure, and strategically positioned for growth.
Aviation Issues
PLG has a proven history of supporting aviation priorities through legislative advocacy, strategic
funding, and strong relationships with key state and regional partners. The firm has collaborated
with local governments and airport authorities to secure state funding for runway enhancements,
facility upgrades, and infrastructure projects that boost regional connectivity and economic
growth. By leveraging long-standing partnerships with the Florida Department of Transportation,
the Florida Airports Council, and legislative transportation committees, our firm’s aviation
priorities are well-positioned for favorable consideration in policy and budget discussions. The
firm also stays engaged with regulatory issues affecting airport operations, such as zoning, noise
mitigation, and multimodal transportation integration. Through its proactive and bipartisan
approach, PLG continues to assist Florida’s aviation hubs in improving safety, resilience, and
capacity to meet the needs of rapidly growing communities and industries across the state.
Law Enforcement, Public Safety, & Homeland Security Issues
The firms have successfully secured millions in funding for public safety facilities, emergency
operations centers, and critical infrastructure upgrades, including $500,000 for improvements to
the public safety complex and $600,000 for a mobile command center in Riviera Beach. PLG has
also supported legislation that enhances emergency communication systems, such as text-to-911
implementation, and has backed reforms to strengthen diversion programs, criminal justice
standards, and overdose prevention initiatives. Working closely with the Florida Department of
Law Enforcement, the Division of Emergency Management, and legislative committees
overseeing criminal justice and homeland security, PLG ensures that its clients’ safety priorities
are fully represented in state policy and budget decisions. Through strategic advocacy and
coordination across agencies, we help local governments secure resources that protect residents,
improve response capabilities, and strengthen community resilience statewide.
PITTMAN LAW GROUP RFP #26-01-01 12
