relationships allow us to align with broader municipal advocacy efforts while advancing the
specific interests of Sunny Isles Beach.
Active Advocacy During Session
During Interim Committee Weeks and the Regular Legislative Session, PLG maintains an active
presence in Tallahassee. Our team monitors all filed legislation affecting the City, attends
committee hearings, engages directly with bill sponsors and staff, and provides real-time strategic
guidance.
We will:
•Track and analyze legislation impacting municipal authority, infrastructure, resiliency,
growth management, and funding streams.
•Draft and pursue amendments when appropriate.
•Coordinate meetings between City officials and key decision-makers.
•Prepare testimony and briefing materials for committee hearings.
•Identify coalition opportunities to strengthen advocacy efforts.
Throughout session, the City will receive weekly written updates summarizing relevant policy
activity, budget negotiations, and emerging risks or opportunities, along with immediate alerts
when action is required. Our long-standing relationships with legislators, committee staff,
leadership offices, and executive branch agencies allow us to provide timely, informed guidance
on when and how to engage most effectively.
Post-Session and Implementation Advocacy
PLG’s work continues beyond adjournment. Following session, we monitor gubernatorial veto
activity and engage with executive staff when necessary to protect City priorities. We also track
agency rulemaking through the Florida Administrative Register to ensure that implementation
decisions do not adversely affect municipal operations.
The City will receive a comprehensive post-session report detailing legislative outcomes, budget
allocations, implementation considerations, and recommended next steps. We will conduct a
debrief meeting with City leadership and provide an annual presentation to the City Commission
summarizing results and preparing for the next legislative cycle.
Communication, Coordination, and Accountability
Our advocacy model is built on consistent communication and transparency. PLG will provide:
•Weekly updates during Interim Committee Weeks, Regular Session, and Special Sessions.
•Monthly status reports during the interim.
•Immediate alerts on time-sensitive developments.
•Ongoing coordination with City leadership to ensure strategic alignment.
PITTMAN LAW GROUP RFP #26-01-01 20
