Public Works Dir. 18070 Collins Ave. <br />Architect's Project No. 2607 <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach Project No. Pending <br />The Architect: RODRIGUEZ ARCHITECTS, INC. <br />2121 Ponce de Leon Blvd., Suite 1260 <br />Coral Gables, Florida 33134 <br />Is pleased to provide: <br />The Client: City of Sunny Isles Beach <br />Public Works Dept. <br />18070 Collins Avenue <br />Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160 <br />The following is request for approval of fees for Basic Architectural/Engineering Services, per the Contract as indicated above. <br />SECTION 1 - PROJECT DESCRIPTION: <br />The project location is the Government Center Building at 18070 Collins Avenue. The building was built in 2005 <br />and consists of 54,000 square feet of city offices with library and post office space on four floors. The ground floor <br />exterior is a civic plaza complete with lush landscaping and a feature water fountain. The existing concrete -pavers <br />have started to settle creating uneven walking surfaces for the public. The existing fountain is non -operational due <br />to electrical issues and the mosaic tile walls of the one-story Commission Chambers building shows signs of damages <br />due to water infiltration. <br />The City of Sunny Isles Beach would like to replace the existing pavers with new colored concrete, bring the fountain <br />up to Code and replace the mosaic wall tile with stucco or another material with less maintenance. <br />RAI will provide complete Architectural, Structural, Plumbing, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering services for a <br />complete design, including all exterior fixture and finish selections. We will provide the City of Sunny Isles Beach a <br />fully permittable set of detailed construction documents and provide construction administration for the life of the <br />project to ensure its success. <br />SECTION 2 - SCOPE OF WORK: <br />The A/E will assist The City of Sunny Isles in accomplishing project goals by providing Professional A/E basic services as <br />per our Agreement. <br />Existing Concrete Pavers: <br />Roughly 15,000 SF of existing concrete pavers will be replaced up to a "limit line" as indicated on the aerial included <br />with this proposal. The pavers will be removed, the plaza regraded, and a new concrete slab on grade, colored to <br />match the existing pavers, will be installed. This work will also include a construction allowance to investigate one <br />existing drain structure that is not working properly. The existing tree planters and low wall copings will be pressure <br />cleaned. <br />Existing Mosaic Tile Wall: <br />The existing mosaic tile will be "sounded" and removed as required, and the existing masonry wall prepped for new <br />waterproofing and a 3-coat stucco finish. RAI will also provide one additional option showing the walls clad in a <br />RODRIGUEZ ARCHITECTS, INC. <br />
