RESOLUTION NO. 2026 -
<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH,
<br />FLORIDA, APPROVING A FOURTH AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH
<br />UNIVERSAL PROTECTION SERVICE, LLC., d/b/a ALLIED UNIVERSAL SECURITY
<br />SERVICES, FOR UNARMED SECURITY GUARD SERVICES AT THE GOVERNMENT
<br />CENTER, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED SIXTY-ONE
<br />THOUSAND DOLLARS AND NO CENTS ($261,000.00), ATTACHED HERETO AS
<br />EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT;
<br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO
<br />EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
<br />WHEREAS, on September 14, 2024, via Resolution No. 2021-3229, the City Commission
<br />of the City of Sunny Isles Beach ("City") approved .an Agreement with Universal Protection
<br />Service, LLC, d/b/a Allied Universal Security Services (the "Contractor"), to provide an unarmed
<br />security officer 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year as security coverage for the
<br />Government Center Lobby ("Services"), in an amount not to exceed $523,532.16; and
<br />WHEREAS, on June 2nd, 2022, the City Manager executed a First Amendment to the
<br />Agreement with the Contractor revising the effective term of the Agreement from October 1,
<br />2022, to July 1, 2022, with option to renew for three (3) one-year renewal terms; and
<br />WHEREAS, on June 20th, 2024, via Resolution No. 2024-3670, the City Commission
<br />approved a Second Amendment to the Agreement with the Contractor, thereby exercising its
<br />first of three (3) renewal options, in an amount not to exceed $230,000.00; and
<br />WHEREAS, on May 15th, 2025, via Resolution No. 2025-3840, the City Commission
<br />approved a Third Amendment to the Agreement with the Contractor, thereby exercising its
<br />second of three (3) renewal options, in an amount not to exceed $270,000.00; and
<br />WHEREAS, the City, being satisfied with the Services rendered by the Contractor, wishes
<br />to exercise its final renewal options; and
<br />WHEREAS, Contractor is certified and insured, has expressed their desire and ability to
<br />continue providing the Services to the City; and
<br />WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to approve a Fourth Amendment to the
<br />Agreement with the Contractor to provide the Services, in an amount not to exceed Two
<br />Hundred Sixty -One Thousand Dollars and No Cents ($261,000.00), bringing the total contract
<br />amount not to exceed One Million Two Hundred Eighty -Four Thousand Five Hundred Thirty -Two
<br />Dollars and Sixteen Cents ($1,284,532.16), attached hereto as Exhibit "A".
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY
<br />ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
