BA was engaged for planning, design, and landscape architecture to
revitalize two linear waterfront parks in Sunny isles Beach west of A1A. The
intracoastal Parks north and south are the development of two vacant
1.5-acre parcels, located between Collins Avenue and the intracoastal
Waterway to the west. The assignment added decorative stone columns
and an aluminum picket fence along the intracoastal Waterway consistent
with the City’s theme for the A1A streetscape design. Benches, trash
receptacles, picnic tables with umbrellas, bike racks, paved walkways, site
grading, security lighting, landscaping, and irrigation were all included in
the final park program.
BA coordinated with the City staff and a local sculptor for the selection,
placement, and lighting of three large contemporary sculptures to be set
in the new park designs.
INTRACOASTAL PARKS
Sunny isles Beach, Florida
CLIENT
City of Sunny Isles Beach
SIZE
3 acres
COST
$2.5 million
COMPLETION
2014
SCOPE OF SERVICES
Landscape Architecture, Master Planning, and
Construction Administration
12 | CiTY OF SUNNY iSLES BEACH | RFQ #26-07-01 CONTiNUiNG PROFESSiONAL ARCHiTECTURAL AND ENGiNEERiNG CONSULTiNG SERViCES (CCNA)
