As CALTRAN’s Project Manager, he has led numerous projects for the City <br />of Miami Beach, FDOT District Six, Miami-Dade County, and other South Florida <br />municipalities. His work has included traffic impact studies, multimodal planning, traffic calming, safety <br />analyses, and roadway design—always with a focus on balancing mobility, safety, and resiliency. Mr. <br />Calderon has served as Engineer of Record (EOR) on resurfacing, widening, signalization, and <br />multimodal corridor projects, applying FDOT and Complete Streets standards to deliver context- <br />sensitive solutions that align with the City’s unique needs as a barrier island community. <br />Mr. Calderon is highly familiar with the City’s transportation challenges, having supported projects <br />involving traffic operations, micro-simulation validation, crash reduction strategies, valet and rideshare <br />evaluations, and multimodal access improvements. His expertise extends to advanced modeling, GIS <br />mapping, and innovative safety measures such as pedestrian hybrid beacons and raised intersections. <br />As Project Manager, Mr. Calderon will serve as the City’s primary point of contact, ensuring responsive <br />communication, onsite support, and proactive problem-solving. His leadership and deep knowledge <br />of Sunny Isle Beach’s mobility context make him exceptionally qualified to guide the City’s continuing <br />traffic engineering services.
