<br />Mr. Heuler is an architect with more than 15 years of experience. His responsibilities include coordination
<br />of interdisciplinary teams within H2M and alongside clients, contractors, and outside consultants, to
<br />ensure project sustainability goals are achieved using a holistic systems approach while meeting the
<br />overall goals of each specific project. Projects are approached using an integrative design process to
<br />identify project goals, develop and optimize designs, ensure proper implementation of all strategies,
<br />and document compliance, when necessary, during both design and construction phases. With the aid
<br />of analysis software, and a coordinated team, project specific strategies are selected to best serve the
<br />client and building users. Mr. Heuler has an extensive knowledge of the LEED green building rating
<br />system for both commercial and residential buildings but supports all projects with sustainability
<br />objectives regardless of the projects certification goals. Mr. Heuler also works extensively with H2M’s
<br />Sustainability Employee Resource Group to advance data driven decisions and integrative design.

<br />•Town of Brookhaven Mastic Volunteer Ambulance Company Headquarters; Brookhaven, NY: LEEDProject Administration in charge of coordinating the LEED charette; creating and reviewing design credit documentation; drawing, specification, and submittal review; and site observation. The building achievedLEED Gold certification. Sustainable features included photovoltaic roof panels; daylight harvesting; lowflow plumbing fixtures; a geothermal HVAC system; a white roof with a high solar reflectance index;building commissioning; and low-emitting materials, as well as a Structural Insulated Panel Systems(SIPS) that provides a continuous insulation barrier around the building to enhance efficiency.
<br />•Manorville Community Ambulance New Headquarters; Manorville, NY: LEED Project Administratorresponsible for the creation and review of design and construction credit documentation; drawing,specification, and submittal review; and site observation. The new headquarters was designed andachieved LEED Silver certification. Sustainable elements include rooftop photovoltaic panels, solar hotwater, daylight harvesting, building solar protection, geothermal heat system, porous pavement, lowwater use fixtures.
<br />•Nassau Community College Center for Students with Disabilities; Garden City, NY: Project Architect/LEED Project Administrator for the program analysis and schematic design of a major renovation toaccommodate the relocation of the College’s Center for Students with Disabilities. The project wasdesigned to meet LEED Silver certification. (2018 - not constructed)
<br />•Stony Brook University Advanced Energy and Research and Technology Center; Stony Brook, NY: LEEDConsultant for a new 50,000 square foot lab and educational building that was designed to and achievedLEED Platinum certification through the incorporation of water efficiency landscaping, vegetation toeliminate stormwater run-off, photovoltaic panels, energy efficient lighting, use of recycled materials,and minimizing use of materials containing Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs). Also responsible forconstruction submittal review and site observation.
<br />•Ørsted Operations and Maintenance Facility; Setauket, NY: LEED Manager for the design of an off-shorewind operations center for Ørsted, to be constructed in Setauket, NY. The facility will support operationsand maintenance for multiple off-shore wind farms located in the northeast United States. The projectinvolves the complete renovation and rehabilitation of an existing 59,000 square foot industrial buildingon 4.5 acres. LEED certification is targeted.
<br />•Stafford Associates Technology Center; Setauket, NY: LEED Consultant in charge of leading the LEEDcharette, drawing and specification review, and creation and review of construction credit documentationnecessary to achieve LEED Gold certification. The commercial office space and data center featuresa geothermal heating and cooling system, preferred parking for energy efficient vehicles, rainwatercollection, a efficient building envelope, and recycled building materials.
<br />•Seatuck Environmental Association The Suffolk County Environmental and Interpretive Center; Islip, NY:LEED Consultant for the historic renovation of a 1917 estate to transform it into an exhibit, program, andevent space, as well as house a nature library for the Seatuck Environmental Association. Responsiblefor construction credit documentation for the LEED Silver certified restoration, which included installationof a denitrification-based alternative waste treatment unit.
