RFQ # 26-07-01 | CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH 62 <br />CES CONSULTANTS, INC. <br />LOCATION <br />Pembroke Pines, FL <br />OWNER <br />City of Pembroke Pines <br />COST <br />Fee Only <br />KEY FEATURES <br />Civil Engineering Study <br />Roadway Design <br />Lane Alignment <br />Channelization <br />Pavement Markings <br />Signalization <br />Signage <br />This effort required analyzing traffic count data of the intersection, understanding of the existing <br />ROW and all infrastructure assets in the intersection, and development of several conceptual <br />alternatives to improve the safety of the intersection. <br />Our feasibility study began by inspecting the existing conditions of the intersection, reviewing the <br />most recent survey, reviewing the previous roadway drawings, and interviewing with both City of <br />Pembroke Pines and City of Miramar staff. Once the investigation was complete, CES developed <br />three conceptual alternatives. These alternatives varied from adjusting the pavement markings to <br />creating dedicated turning lanes. <br />The primary issue detected was that there was a slight lane shift within the intersection. This lane shift <br />caused poor visibility for the eastbound left turn lane. In order to correct this, CES proposed to adjust <br />the lanes further away from the intersection.
