RFQ # 26-07-01 | CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH | CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL ARCHITECTURAL AND ENGINEERING CONSULTING SERVICES (CCNA)76 <br />CES CONSULTANTS, INC. <br />Water Main Aerial Crossing along West 41st Street Bridge between <br />Pine Tree Drive and Indian Creek Drive Replacement: This project <br />includes the complete replacement of the existing 16-inch cast-iron <br />aerial water main crossing that is currently attached to the 41st <br />Street Bridge between Indian Creek and Collins Avenue with the <br />proposed water main of approximately 1,280 LF in length, with 920 <br />LF HDPE DR 11 Pipe (20-inch), 300 LF Ductile Iron Pipe (20-inch), <br />and 60 LF Ductile Iron Pipe (16-inch). 2024 C-AACE Project of the <br />Year Award, Category I. <br />Water Main Replacement for Fire Flow Package #1: The Fire Flow <br />Projects Package 1 (W-14, W-15, W-26) project includes installation <br />of approximately 7,650 LF of zinc-coated, poly-wrapped ductile <br />iron water main ranging from 6-inch to 16-inch diameter, along with <br />new fire hydrants between 6th and 14th Streets in South Beach. The <br />improvements address identified fire flow deficiencies by increasing <br />system capacity and distribution reliability to meet fire protection <br />requirements while also improving drinking water quality and water <br />pressure in the area. <br />Collins Canal Subaqueous Water Main Replacements on 22nd <br />and 23rd Street: This project installs new potable water pipelines <br />across Collins Canal at 22nd Street and 23rd Street, and associated <br />improvements. The project includes pipelines of varying diameter <br />(4” to 24”) and material types (ductile iron and high-density <br />polyethylene-HDPE), and the construction method includes both <br />Horizontal Direction Drill (HDD) and open cut. The project also <br />includes replacing two out-of-service subaqueous water mains with <br />new 20-inch and 16-inch HDPE water mains installed via HDD method <br />requiring four HDD pits and installing ductile iron pipe ranging from <br />8-inch diameter to 20-inch diameter, installed via open-cut. <br />Lincoln Road Improvement Project – Phase II: CES provides <br />Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) services for Phase II <br />of the Lincoln Road Improvement Project, including improvements <br />along Drexel Avenue and Meridian Avenue. The project is part of <br />the broader redevelopment of the Lincoln Road pedestrian mall <br />between Washington Avenue and Lenox Avenue. Improvements <br />include new lighting, rehabilitation of pedestrian surfaces, <br />architectural follies and water features, new street furnishings, <br />tree fertilization systems, pavement milling and resurfacing, and <br />enhanced pedestrian crosswalks. <br />CES’s responsibilities include full-time construction inspection and <br />part-time project management; monitoring contractor compliance <br />with the plans, specifications, permits, and maintenance-of-traffic <br />requirements; documenting daily construction activities; verifying <br />installed quantities; reviewing pay applications, schedules, <br />RFIs, change orders, and requests for additional contract time; <br />coordinating materials testing; and supporting stakeholder and <br />public information coordination. CES is also assisting the City with <br />substantial and final completion inspections, punchlist monitoring, <br />review of record drawings and warranties, and final project closeout. <br />The anticipated CEI assignment includes 17 months of construction, <br />plus preconstruction and closeout services.
