<br />11TH STREET ROADWAY RECONSTRUCTION – DESIGN-BUILD SERVICES | CITY OF

<br />The 11th Street Roadway Reconstruction was a design-build project completed between 2016 and
<br />2017 to address chronic flooding and sea level rise impacts in the City of Miami Beach. The project
<br />elevated the roadway by approximately two feet and introduced a new drainage system to improve
<br />flood protection for adjacent properties. CHA prepared comprehensive construction documents for
<br />roadway reconstruction, utility upgrades, decorative lighting, signalization improvements, landscaping,
<br />and pavement markings. The work included installation of a 54-inch force main, 30-inch sanitary gravity sewer, upgraded pump
<br />station, and transition to mast arm signalized intersections. During construction, CHA provided construction management
<br />services, including shop drawing review, RFI coordination, schedule monitoring, traffic management oversight, and utility
<br />coordination, ensuring successful delivery of this critical resilience project.

<br />As part of a continuing services contract, CHA guided a range of enhancements for the Broward
<br />County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) mobility project on SR 817/University Drive. These
<br />enhancements were designed to boost pedestrian, bicycle, and traffic safety, as well as to improve
<br />transit operations along the route. Key improvements included adding bicycle lanes, achieved by
<br />milling, resurfacing, and widening the existing road. The project also involved installing new drainage
<br />systems, curbs, and gutters, alongside widening the sidewalks and installing ADA-compliant curb ramps. CHA also oversaw the
<br />addition of new bus shelters at existing bus stops and the construction of a pedestrian overpass bridge near the intersection at
<br />Miramar Boulevard, which spans the South Broward Drainage District Canal 1.
<br />Additionally, the project upgraded signage and pavement markings, and installed pedestrian countdown signals at all signalized
<br />intersections. It also entailed replacing light poles that were affected by the road widening and improving overall lighting along
<br />the sidewalks. This included retrofitting pedestrian lights at signalized intersections. CHA’s responsibilities extended to
<br />coordinating extensively with the MPO, the City of Miramar, various stakeholders, and projects in adjacent areas.
<br />GOLDEN GLADES MULTIMODAL TRANSPORTATION FACILITY | FDOT DISTRICT 6
<br />The Golden Glades Multimodal Transportation Facility (GGMTF), a $60 million design-build project
<br />completed in February 2022, upgraded the former Park & Ride Center into a modern transportation
<br />hub. CHA led the design, delivering a six-story parking garage with 2,150 spaces, a 4,500 sq. ft.
<br />transit hub, 10,450 sq. ft. of retail space, and a pedestrian bridge connecting directly to Tri-Rail.
<br />The facility also features multi-bay bus terminals, bicycle parking and lockers, improved sidewalks,
<br />and reconstructed roadways near SR-9, SR-7, and the Connector Road. Seven advanced technology
<br />systems were integrated, including ticket vending, transit information, CCTV surveillance, emergency call boxes, parking
<br />management, security access, and Wi-Fi, enhancing safety and efficiency. Strategically located to link Miami-Dade and Broward
<br />transit, Tri-Rail, and ridesharing, the GGMTF improves connectivity, reduces congestion, and supports regional mobility.
<br />Recognized as Florida’s Best in Construction (2022), it stands as a model for innovative, multimodal infrastructure.
