PAGE 31 | RFQ 26-07-01; CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL ARCHITECTURAL AND ENGINEERING CONSULTING SERVICES <br />(CCNA) <br />TAB 2 - QUALIFICATIONS <br />Water/Wastewater <br />NW 7TH AVENUE WASTEWATER COLLECTION SYSTEM EXPANSION | MIAMI-DADE COUNTY WASD <br />This project involved the design of approximately 16,600 linear feet of 8-inch PVC gravity sewer and <br />6,050 linear feet of 8-inch ductile iron force main across two wastewater collection sub-basins. <br />Improvements included 73 manholes, associated valves, and appurtenances required for future pump <br />station connections. The project also included the preparation of detailed Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) <br />plans and technical specifications to support construction of the gravity sewer system while minimizing <br />impacts to the traveling public. <br />Reference: Gary Clarke; T: (786) 552-8143; E: Gary.Clarke@miamidade.gov <br /> Year Completed: 2020 <br />48-INCH WATER MAIN ALONG SW 117 AVENUE (AREA N) | MIAMI-DADE COUNTY WASD <br />This project upgraded critical water and wastewater infrastructure through the construction <br />of approximately 6.0 miles of 48-inch water transmission main and a new 16-inch ductile <br />iron force main. The project included 712 feet of microtunneling beneath SR-874 and the CSX <br />Railroad using a 72-inch steel casing to accommodate the 48-inch carrier pipe. Additional <br />services included utility coordination, geotechnical and survey support, utility conflict <br />identification, preparation of engineering plans and specifications, MOT and SP&M plans, roadway resurfacing design, <br />construction administration, shop drawing and RFI reviews, QA/QC, as-built certification, and project closeout. <br />Reference: FDOT - District 6; Miguel Pichardo; <br />T: (786) 5522-4352; E: miguel.pichardo@miamidade.gov | Year Completed: 2020 <br />DESIGN-BUILD 54-INCH FORCE MAIN REDUNDANT BYPASS LINE | CITY OF FORT LAUDERDALE <br />Following a catastrophic failure of Fort Lauderdale’s primary sewage transmission line serving the <br />George T. Lohmeyer Treatment Plant in December 2019, this emergency design-build project included <br />the repair of the damaged force main and the design of a fully redundant replacement system to <br />enhance long-term reliability. The project involved more than 15,000 linear feet of 54-inch HDPE force <br />main, much of which was installed via horizontal directional drilling (HDD) across six construction <br />zones beneath rivers, canals, roadways, bridges, and other environmentally sensitive areas. The design incorporated complex <br />compound and reverse curves to navigate right-of-way and environmental constraints, as well as expansion restraints and <br />anchor blocks to address thermal expansion and pressure differentials. The project also required coordination and permitting <br />with 11 regulatory agencies, resulting in the acquisition, certification, and closeout of more than 30 permits.
