PAGE 32 | RFQ 26-07-01; CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL ARCHITECTURAL AND ENGINEERING CONSULTING SERVICES <br />(CCNA) <br />TAB 2 - QUALIFICATIONS <br />STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING <br />CITY OF MIAMI BEACH SEAWALL IMPROVEMENT | CITY OF MIAMI BEACH <br />CHA’s team, on behalf of the City of Miami Beach, is responsible for the structural engineering design <br />of a new seawall improvement project. This project consists of replacing three existing seawalls with <br />a new post and panel system. The project consists of replacing the existing seawalls at the following <br />locations in the City of Miami Beach: Seawall No. 4 - Flamingo Dr. and 24th Street (± 45 LF); Seawall No. <br />5 - Collins Avenue at 2380 (± 280 LF); ans Seawall No. 6 - Collins Avenue at 2457 (± 144 LF). <br />CHA completed plan development and structural design of the proposed sea wall modifications and <br />proposed new seawalls. Drainage, roadway, and pedestrian improvements are also part of the new construction. Coordination <br />with surveying, geotechnical, and permitting agencies are critical for the seawall improvements. The purpose of the sea wall is <br />to increase the top of wall elevation to mitigate the effects of sea level rise.effects of sea level rise. <br />Reference: City of Miami Beach; Bryan Sevilla, EI; T: (786) 897-8885; E: BryanSevilla@MiamiBeachFL.gov <br /> Year Completed: 2025 (Design) - Under Construction <br />SR 25 OKEECHOBEE ROAD FROM EAST OF NW 107TH AVENUE TO EAST OF NW 116TH WAY (FPID: 423251-5-52-01) | FDOT DISTRICT 6 <br />The project included the design of bridges for grade separation of Okeechobee Road over NW 116th <br />Way, featuring a T-bridge intersection for southeast and northwest connections to facilitate the <br />left-turn lane from southbound NW 116th Way to eastbound Okeechobee Road. It also incorporated <br />flyover bridges for left-turn movements from southbound NW 116th Place to eastbound Okeechobee <br />Road. Additionally, two smaller bridges crossing the Miami (C-6) Canal at NW 121st Avenue and NW <br />116th Way were replaced and widened. The Frontage Road, from MP 6.310 to MP 8.146, underwent complete reconstruction and <br />realignment. Beyond the structural work, the project encompassed the installation of five new traffic signals, replacement of <br />five existing signals, and deployment of new ITS, drainage, and lighting systems. As the prime designer, CHA was responsible <br />for all design project management and coordination efforts. They developed the roadway geometry and final plans and led the <br />structure concept and final design for four bridges, drainage, ITS, lighting, utility coordination, and miscellaneous structures. <br />This major reconstruction of SR 25/U.S. 27/Okeechobee Road using rigid pavement from MP 6.310 to MP 8.146 provides <br />significant traffic operations and safety improvements for the interchange and the surrounding arterial network. <br />Reference: FDOT - District 6; Bao-Ying Wang, PE; <br />T: (305) 470-5211; E: BaoYing.Wang@dot.state.fl.us | Year Completed: 2020 <br />OPA-LOCKA EXECUTIVE AIRPORT PROPOSED BRIDGE OVER SFWMD C-8 CANAL (E13-WASD-04) <br />The project is located within the Opa Locka Executive Airport and involves the demolition of an existing <br />bridge over the SFWMD C-8 Canal, the installation of a proposed 2-108” RCP culvert, the restoration <br />of the canal cross-section, and the construction of a proposed three-span reinforced concrete deck <br />bridge over the C-8 Canal. CHA was responsible for the design of all components of the project, <br />including the demolition plan and the mitigation of existing hazardous materials. The bridge design <br />featured a reinforced concrete deck superstructure to minimize the bridge profile. Coordination with MD-WASD, SFWMD, MDAD, <br />and FAA was critical to ensure the requirements of all agencies were simultaneously met. The project also included lighting <br />improvements on the bridge, a raised profile to meet canal requirements, and additional design and construction modifications <br />to meet aviation and SFWMD requirements. <br />Reference: Miami-Dade County WASD; Roger F.
