His deep understanding of civil <br />infrastructure allows him to provide efficient and compliant <br />engineering solutions. <br /> <br />RELEVANT EXPERIENCE <br /> <br />Miami International Airport Terminal Wide Re-Roofing (Miami, FL) <br />As the Structural Professional Engineer, Mr. Compres oversaw and led <br />Conemco Consultants’ scope of services for the Miami International <br />Airport Modernization Program, which included reviewing structural <br />drawings, calculations, and specifications for the roofing system <br />replacement; evaluating existing structures to accommodate new <br />loading conditions and preparing construction estimates; designing <br />modifications such as removal of curbs and pedestals, filling openings, <br />and replacing damaged ramps, stairs, and connections; providing <br />structural design and calculations for the solar panel support systems; <br />and coordinating assessments using as-built drawings and 3D models, <br />including the identification and evaluation of the existing structural <br />elements. <br /> <br />Maison Grande Condominium (Miami Beach, FL) <br />Mr. Compres oversaw the redevelopment of permit documents and led <br />Phase 3 as Engineer of Record. He managed comprehensive structural <br />evaluations and concrete restoration across the tower, parking garage, <br />pool deck, and roof. Directed façade restoration addressing stucco, <br />concrete, masonry, and sealant systems. COMPRES, PE <br />Principal in Charge <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Broward Schools Roof Asset Management Services (Fort Lauderdale, FL) <br />Mr. Compres led the implementation of a comprehensive Roof Asset Management Program for the <br />School Board of Broward County, Florida, optimizing the lifecycle of approximately 33 million square <br />feet of roofing across the entire School District. The scope of work includes performing roof <br />inspections, compliance reviews, structural engineering services, and construction restoration <br />supervision, as well as designing fall protection solutions. Under his leadership, the Conemco team <br />performs evaluations, structural damage assessments, and complex project analyses and <br />calculations, while he advises the program team on SBBC Capital Program policies, State <br />Requirements for Educational Facilities (SREF), local codes, and compliance with Supplier Diversity <br />Outreach Program goals. <br /> <br />School Board of Broward County (SBBC) Enhance Hurricane Protection Areas – EHPA <br />(Broward County, FL) <br />Mr. Compres served as the Engineer of Record responsible for conducting structural inspections and <br />preparing recertification reports for over 40 schools in 2010, 2015, and 2018, in accordance with the <br />Florida Building Code Section 453.25.6.3 and the School Board of Broward County (SBBC) structural <br />design criteria. These inspections were part of Broward County Public Schools’ ongoing compliance <br />efforts to maintain the integrity of facilities designated as Enhanced Hurricane Protection Areas <br />(EHPA). The scope of work included evaluating the existing condition of key structural components <br />such as the exterior envelope, roof decking, doors, windows, louvers, roofing materials, HVAC <br />equipment, and rooftop installations. Each inspection confirmed that rated capacities, product approval <br />numbers (NOA), as-built drawings, and manufacturer data sheets aligned with the prevailing Florida <br />Building Code requirements at the time of original construction or most recent replacement. As <br />required by code, these certifications must be completed every five years or following any structural <br />damage or replacement. Where deficiencies were identified, recommendations for upgrades were <br />provided to ensure continued compliance with current safety standards. <br /> <br />Miami-Dade County Public Schools – Code Compliance for Civil and Structural (Miami, FL) <br />Mr. Compres led structural and civil inspection services under Bermello Ajamil & Partners’ program <br />with Miami-Dade County Public Schools (MDCPS). He was responsible for overseeing construction <br />and rehabilitation efforts across multiple school sites, ensuring full compliance with applicable <br />structural and civil codes. His work encompassed inspections and code compliance verification at <br />various facilities, including Sylvania Heights Elementary, Wesley Matthews Elementary <br />(02204200), Henry Filer Elementary, Fairlawn Elementary, Zelda Glazer, Robert Russa Moton <br />Elementary, Coral Way K-8, Springview Elementary, Palm Springs Elementary, Twin Lakes <br />Elementary, Golden Glades Elementary, and Lindsey Hopkins Technical College. His <br />contributions ensured the structural integrity and compliance of these educational facilities, supporting <br />the safety and longevity of school infrastructure. <br /> <br />Structural designer for North District Wastewater Treatment (NDWWTP) rehabilitation Project, <br />Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department, E06-WASD-13. (Miami-Dade, FL) <br />Mr. Compres contributed to the NDWWTP Rehabilitation Project, which was part of the 2013 Consent <br />Decree between the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (MDWASD) and the Environmental <br />Protection Agency (EPA). This project aimed to implement critical impro vements to restore the long- <br />term viability of the wastewater treatment facility. His involvement spanned several task orders for <br />various buildings within the plant: <br />1. Aerated Grit/Screening Building Upgrades <br />Mr. Compres provided structural plans and calculations for the removal of the existing <br />skylight and the design of a new cover. Additionally, he designed a concrete energy <br />dissipation box and reinforced existing structural elements to ensure compliance with <br />updated facility requirements.
