With decades of experience, his expertise spans r oadways, <br />water transmission and distribution, as well as sanitary sewer collection, <br />treatment, and disposal. In addition, Mr. Van Meek plays a key role in <br />project management, design, construction supervision, and conducting <br />feasibility assessments. <br /> <br />RELEVANT EXPERIENCE <br /> <br />Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) <br />Infiltration/Exfiltration/Inflow (I/E/l) Reduction Program <br />Engineering and construction management to reduce more than 60 <br />mgd of I/E/I within 5 years at an estimated cost to the county, of $100 <br />M. Work includes work scheduling, permitting process, construction <br />management, coordination with utility companies as well as federal, <br />state and local regulatory agencies. <br /> <br />FEMA Drainage Project - Miami-Dade County (Miami, FL) <br />As Senior Engineer, Mr. Van Meek led the design of a new storm <br />drainage system design, to alleviate the spread flooding experienced <br />during the most recent (Irene and No-Name) storms that affected the <br />County. Work includes water management analysis of the existing <br />conditions, new design, coordination with other consultants including <br />surveyors, utility coordination and construction coordination, and cost <br />estimates. <br /> <br />Camp Matecumbe Playground (Miami, FL) <br />As the Senior Engineer, Mr. Van Meek provided construction <br />management services and oversaw the preparation of complete civil <br />drawings and calculations. His responsibilities included paving and <br />drainage plans, parking lot profiles, traffic coordination, traffic signage <br />and markings for the parking area and entry drive to support the <br />property's permitting process. <br /> <br />AAFERN New Office Building (Miami, FL) <br />Mr. Van Meek assisted the Senior Engineer in the preparation of a <br />complete set of structural and civil plans for the construction of a 24,000 <br />sq. ft. office building and metal warehouse used for the maintenance <br />and repair of large trucks. He also participated in the design of a <br />concrete slab parking lot, including paving and drainage designs and <br />traffic signage. <br /> <br />Miami International Airport (MIA) Perimeter Road Expansion <br />(Miami, FL) <br />This project consisted of reconstructing Perimeter Road along the south <br />portion of the airfield, realigning Perimeter Road along the east side of <br />the Fuel Farm to NW 20th Street, interfacing with the proposed <br />Perimeter Road Bridge and Central Boulevard Master Plan and <br />providing a new connection from the existing North Service Road north <br />to the Northeast Base and Building 5A. <br /> <br />GUIDO VAN MEEK, PE <br />Lead Civil Engineer <br /> <br /> <br />Compartment ‘C’ Build Out G-508 Station, South Florida Water Management District (SFWM) <br />(Hendry County, FL) <br />Mr. Var Meek, as the Senior Engineer, supervised South Florida Water Management District, Storm <br />Water Treatment Area (STA) on Compartment C land to assist the existing STA’s in improving the <br />quality of water entering the Everglades Protection Area. This pr oject enables the district to achieve <br />Everglades water quality standards as part of the implementation of the long-term plan to ensure that <br />all water discharging into the Everglades protection area complies with State water quality standards. <br />Involved in the process from quantity take-off, pricing, bidding, and final submittal. Responsible for: <br />scheduling, monitoring, and supervising the material testing of the project. <br /> <br />Hidden Lake Office Park, Miami-Dade County (Boca Raton, FL) <br />Mr. Van Meek, as the Senior Engineer, supervised the preparation of a complete set of civil design <br />drawings for re-grading, repaving, and implementing a new drainage system as part of the <br />reconstruction and expansion of the existing bus drop-off loop area. Additionally, as Project Manager <br />under this contract, he provided consulting civil engineering services for access roadway <br />improvements, a water transmission and distribution system, and a sanitary sewer collection and <br />disposal system to serve a 16.5-acre commercial property. This development included seven office <br />buildings, a 140-seat restaurant, and a 120-room hotel located at S.W. 127 Avenue and S.W. 128 <br />Street in Miami-Dade County, Florida. Mr. Van Meek was directly responsible for preliminary <br />engineering and design services, negotiations with regulatory agencies, the permitting process, and <br />construction administration. <br /> <br />Hadley Park Community Center (Miami, FL) <br />Civil engineering services include Paving, grading and drainage design, water main extension and <br />sanitary sewer collection system to serve the center, coordination with the City of Miami Parks and <br />Recreation Dept. and on their behalf with the State and loc al regulatory agencies, utility coordination, <br />permitting process, and construction supervision. <br /> <br />Miami-Dade Parks and Recreation Department (Miami-Dade, FL) <br />As Senior Engineer, Mr. Van Meek supervised feasibility studies, engineering design, and the <br />implementation of sanitary sewer connections for 16 parks to public sewers. The project was carried <br />out in compliance with a Consent Decree between the Miami-Dade County Department of <br />Environmental Resources Management (DERM) and the Miami -Dade Parks and Recreation <br />Department (MDPR). <br /> <br />Blanche Ely High School Bus Loop Renovation (Pompano Beach, FL) <br />Mr. Van Meek as the Senior Engineer supervised the preparation of a complete set of civil design <br />drawings for re-grading, repaving, and implementing a new drainage system as part of the <br />reconstruction and expansion of the existing bus drop-off loop area. His work will include the <br />supervision of the design of a new aluminum walkway and two additional walkways for the expanded <br />bus drop-off loop. <br /> <br />West Gables Rehabilitation Hospital (Miami, FL) <br />Mr. Van Meek supervised structural and electrical recertification services for a four-story, <br />approximately 91,135 sq. ft. healthcare facility. His work included field condition assessments, <br />engineering evaluations, and preparation of recertification reports in compliance with Miami-Dade <br />County requirements. He also oversaw the documentation of existing systems, identification of <br />structural and electrical deficiencies, development of repair recommendations supported by <br />engineering analysis, preparation of repair drawings, and follow-up field verification to confirm <br />corrective actions and ensure compliance with applicable building codes and life-safety standards.
