Project Understanding <br />CED understands that the City is not a typical <br />municipality. As a dense coastal barrier island community <br />bound by the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal <br />Waterway, the City must balance infrastructure resiliency, <br />transportation mobility, environmental stewardship, <br />public safety, tourism, redevelopment pressures, and <br />quality-of-life improvements within a constrained <br />geographicfootprint.TheCity’scontinuingcapital <br />investments in drainage improvements, coastal resiliency, <br />transportation enhancements, public spaces, and <br />municipal facilities demonstrate a proactive commitment <br />to protecting public assets while enhancing community <br />services. <br />We recognize that assignments issued under this <br />continuing services contract may range from feasibility <br />studies and planning initiatives to design, permitting, <br />bidding support, construction administration, and CEI <br />servicesforprojectsundertheCCNAcontinuingcontract <br />thresholds. CED has assembled a multidisciplinary team <br />specificallystructuredtosupportthesediverseneeds. <br />Our Approach: Infrastructure Resiliency First <br />BecausemanyofSunnyIslesBeach’sfutureprojectswill <br />beinfluencedbyflooding,sea-levelrise,stormsurge,and <br />coastal vulnerability, CED approaches every assignment <br />through a resiliency lens. <br />For each task authorization, our team evaluates: <br />• Existing infrastructure vulnerabilities <br />• Stormwater and drainage impacts <br />• Coastal resiliency opportunities <br />• Lifecycle costs <br />• Sustainability enhancements <br />• Emergency preparedness considerations <br />• Future adaptability of facilities and infrastructure <br />• Potential grant and loan funding opportunities <br />Whether designing a streetscape, drainage improvement, <br />waterfront park, municipal building renovation, pump <br />stationupgrade,trafficimprovement,orcoastal <br />rehabilitationproject,ourgoalistodeliverprojectsthat <br />remainfunctionalandcost-effectivefordecades. <br />Integrated Multidisciplinary Delivery <br />Unlikefirmsthatassemblemultiplesubconsultantsafter <br />award, CED provides several required disciplines through <br />a single integrated team.
