The project <br />restored approximately 1,300 LF of sandy shoreline. The additional sand and <br />engineered beach design will improve the area’s resilience during future storm <br />events and increase recreational space for the public. <br />Field investigations included topographic and bathymetric surveys covering the <br />project footprint. Surveys extended upland to support sand placement within <br />the existing beach system. Survey transects were spaced approximately every <br />100 feet along the shoreline. Coordination with t he Florida Department of <br />Environmental Protection (FDEP) was successfully completed to verify the project <br />design complied with applicable regulations. Cummins Cederberg also designed <br />the project to align with the Fish & Wildlife Service (FWS) Statewide Programmatic <br />Biological Opinion for sand placement activities in Florida. Engineering designs <br />were finalized, including construction documents for beach nourishment and <br />headland restoration <br />Construction support services were carried out through all phases—bidding, <br />pre-construction coordination, milestone-based administration (50% and 100% <br />completion), project closeout, reporting, certification.
