<br />• FDOT Coastal Asset Management , District 1.
<br />Conducted FDOT’s first district-wide sea level rise
<br />assessment, evaluating risks to roadways, bridges,
<br />drainage infrastructure, and other transportation
<br />assets. Developed future tidal projections, flood
<br />mapping, GIS-based vulnerability analyses, and
<br />adaptation concepts to protect coastal infrastructure
<br />through the year 2100.
<br />• FDOT A1A Vulnerability Study & Roadway Stabilization
<br />Design, Indian River County, Florida. Performed
<br />hydrodynamic and wave modeling for nearly two miles
<br />of erosion-prone shoreline impacted by Hurricane
<br />Matthew. Services included scour analysis, wave load
<br />calculations, storm surge modeling, and stabilization
<br />design to protect a critical coastal transportation
<br />corridor.
<br />• FDOT D6 Seven Mile Bridge Replacement, Marathon,
<br />Florida. Supported the PD&E study for replacement
<br />of the iconic Seven Mile Bridge through benthic
<br />habitat mapping, GIS analysis, field verification
<br />surveys, environmental resource assessments, and
<br />development of mapping products used to evaluate
<br />potential bridge alignments.
<br />• Bridge Development Report Review for the FDOT
<br />Cortez Bridge, Manatee Coutny, Florida. Reviewed
<br />bridge hydraulics and coastal engineering analyses for
<br />the replacement of the S.R. 684 Cortez Draw Bridge
<br />over Sarasota Bay, including evaluation of ADCIRC/
<br />SWAN hurricane modeling, wave climate analyses,
<br />bridge scour considerations, and constructability
<br />recommendations.
<br />WORKING WITH REGULATORY AGENCIES
<br />Cummins Cederberg has extensive experience
<br />coordinating with local, state, and federal regulatory
<br />agencies throughout project planning, design, permitting,
<br />construction, and post-construction compliance.
<br />Our team routinely works with Miami-Dade County
<br />Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW),
<br />Miami-Dade County Traffic Engineering Division, Miami-
<br />Dade County Highway Construction and Engineering
<br />Division, the Florida Department of Transportation
<br />(FDOT), Miami-Dade County Division of Environmental
<br />Resources Management (DERM), the Florida Department
<br />of Environmental Protection (FDEP), the U.S. Army Corps
<br />of Engineers (USACE), the Florida Fish and Wildlife
<br />Conservation Commission (FWC), the U.S. Fish and
<br />Wildlife Service (USFWS), and the National Marine
<br />Fisheries Service (NMFS). Our staff includes former
<br />regulatory agency professionals who provide valuable
<br />insight into agency requirements, permitting processes,
<br />and compliance strategies. This experience allows us to
<br />prepare comprehensive permit applications, efficiently
<br />address Requests for Additional Information (RAIs), and
<br />successfully navigate complex regulatory reviews while
<br />minimizing project risks and permitting delays.

<br />• Coordinated with FDOT on coastal resiliency, bridge
<br />replacement, vulnerability assessment, roadway
<br />stabilization, and infrastructure projects.
<br />• Obtained permits and regulatory approvals from
<br />DERM, FDEP, and USACE for shoreline stabilization,
<br />seawalls, dredging, marina, waterfront park,
<br />beach nourishment, living shoreline, and marine
<br />infrastructure projects throughout South Florida.
<br />• Regularly coordinate with FWC, USFWS, and NMFS
<br />on projects involving protected species, seagrass
<br />resources, marine habitats, and coastal permitting.
<br />• Developed permit compliance programs, monitoring
<br />plans, mitigation strategies, and post-construction
<br />reporting for numerous municipal and transportation
<br />projects throughout Florida.
