RFQ #26-07-01 | 28 <br />2.2.2 Transportation/ Transit/ Traffic Engineering <br />The scope of work under this RFǪ comprises miscellaneous professional engineering and architecture consulting services to support <br />on an as-needed basis. We understand that some of the projects may be capital-planned projects, while others may be emergency <br />projects requiring immediate attention. Our team is tailored to address the City’s needs—our staff is local, available and qualified to <br />respond to any requests from the City. We understand that the City may need our services, and that we may have to work on multiple <br />assignments concurrently. Having worked on more than 30+ municipal continuing services contracts, we are completely familiar with <br />the factors involved in successfully handling concurrent tasks with sensitive schedule and budget requirements. <br />EAC offers a full range of planning, design, and construction management services for civil engineering, including: <br /> ǃ Roadway Design <br /> ǃ Bridges <br /> ǃ Bike Lanes <br /> ǃ Street Lighting <br /> ǃ Highways Design <br /> ǃ Signalization <br /> ǃ Bridges <br /> ǃ Maintenance of Traffic <br /> ǃ Pavement Markings <br /> ǃ PD&E <br /> ǃ Sidewalks <br /> ǃ Bike Paths <br /> ǃ Miscellaneous Structures <br /> ǃ Signage <br /> ǃ Roadway Drainage <br /> ǃ Dredging <br /> ǃ Outfalls <br /> ǃ Stormwater Pump Stations <br /> ǃ Drainage Wells <br />Our engineers specialize in a wide range of roadway and sidewalk design services - including for projects that require planning; <br />full reconstruction; milling and resurfacing; pavement design; roadway channelization and markings design; signage analyses and <br />evaluation; horizontal and vertical control; and intersection signalization and traffic control. These services have been performed for <br />several clients - including municipalities and public sector agencies throughout Florida. Of note are the coastal municipalities like the <br />City of Key West, City of Hallandale Beach, City of North Miami Beach and State agencies like Florida Department of Transportation <br />(FDOT), and the Florida Turnpike (FTE) that we have served. <br />EAC is certified by FDOT and several other transportation agencies and governmental credentialing organizations. Our staff are <br />also very familiar with jurisdictional requirements for roadway design work, as well as the differences inherent between varying <br />jurisdictional levels (i.e., federal, state, county, and local municipal regulations). Several of our projects have been bestowed locally, <br />statewide, and nationally. <br />As part of the roadway infrastructure improvements, the City’s American Disability Act (ADA) and Accessibility Code requirements will <br />be assessed and resolved. The implementation of pavement repair and restoration measures - such as reconstruction, milling, and <br />resurfacing - will extend the serviceability of existing pavements. Sidewalk improvements will also be undertaken to eliminate safety <br />hazards, as well as to eliminate issues relating to non-compliance of regulatory codes and standards. <br />Our roadway design expertise and technical approach encompass familiarity with the elements of sound engineering and recommend <br />affordable solutions for our clients. We are fully familiar with the following project components and elements: <br />Horizontal and Vertical Layout and Alignment <br />EAC is familiar with the design of roadway geometrics <br />and engages the process with adequate consideration to <br />design traffic volumes, design speed, capacity and levels <br />of service, functional classification, adjacent land use, <br />design consistency and driver expectancy, aesthetics, <br />existing vegetation to be preserved, pedestrian and bicycle <br />concerns, ADA requirements, and access management. <br />Roadway Typical and Cross Sections <br />EAC’s roadway engineers are familiar with developing <br />typical section packages detailing the required lane widths, <br />travel lane border treatment, unpaved section utilizations <br />and roadway cross slopes. Where cross slope correction is <br />required for existing roads, EAC will collect pertinent field <br />data to obtain existing cross slope data, determine roadway <br />limits where cross slope is potentially out of tolerance and <br />determine the most feasible and economical resolution.
