Team Member Contributions
Brock Petrak, EIT | Civil Engineer
Brock Petrak will provide civil engineering support for environmental and coastal engineering
assignments performed for the City of Sunny Isles Beach. His experience includes site engineering,
stormwater management, coastal infrastructure, waterfront improvements, and resiliency planning.
Brock supports projects from initial site investigations through planning, design, permitting, and
construction support.
Brock assists with engineering analyses, field investigations, conceptual planning, and the preparation
of engineering plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports. His experience includes
evaluating existing site conditions, supporting drainage and utility improvements, conducting storm
damage assessments, developing conceptual waterfront layouts, and coordinating permitting and
pre construction activities. He also works closely with the project team to integrate engineering,
environmental, and surveying information into practical design solutions.
For the City’s assignments, Brock will support engineering analyses, site assessments, drainage
evaluations, coastal infrastructure improvements, and preparation of technical documentation. He
will assist with field investigations, engineering calculations, plan production, permitting support,
quantity takeoffs, cost estimating, and coordination throughout project development to help advance
assignments efficiently from planning through construction.
Level of Involvement: Civil engineering analysis, site investigations, drainage and coastal infrastructure
design support, cost estimating, permitting assistance, and preparation of engineering deliverables.
Erik Erton | Coastal Engineer
Erik Erton will serve as Edgewater’s Coastal Engineer for environmental and coastal engineering
assignments performed for the City of Sunny Isles Beach. His experience focuses on the planning,
evaluation, and design of coastal infrastructure, shoreline stabilization, marine structures, dredging
projects, flood resiliency improvements, and waterfront facilities. He provides technical support for
projects involving coastal processes, hydraulic analysis, and shoreline protection throughout Florida.
Erik holds a Master’s degree in Ocean Engineering from Florida Atlantic University with a specialization
in offshore structures. His experience includes coastal engineering analyses, marine facility condition
assessments, seawall inspections, post storm damage evaluations, bathymetric data analysis, and
coordination of topographic and hydrographic surveying to support engineering design. He has
also supported FEMA funded damage assessments, floating dock evaluations, marina infrastructure
improvements, and numerical coastal modeling for shoreline and waterfront projects.
For the City’s assignments, Erik will perform coastal engineering analyses, support field investigations,
coordinate surveying activities, evaluate existing marine infrastructure, prepare engineering
calculations and technical documentation, and assist with the design of shoreline stabilization, coastal
resiliency, marine structures, and waterfront improvements. He will work closely with the engineering
and environmental teams to develop practical, resilient, and technically sound solutions that support
the City’s long term coastal management objectives.
Level of Involvement: Coastal engineering analysis, hydraulic and shoreline evaluations, marine
structure inspections, surveying coordination, engineering design support, and preparation of
technical documentation.
