<br />Florida and Regulatory Agency Experience
<br />GEI and its proposed key personnel have extensive experience delivering marine, coastal, waterfront, and resiliency projects
<br />throughout Florida for municipal, state, and federal clients. Our team has supported projects in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm
<br />Beach, Volusia, Duval, St. Johns, and Hillsborough Counties, providing coastal engineering, shoreline stabilization, waterfront
<br />infrastructure design, permitting, construction support, and hazard mitigation services. This experience reflects the direct
<br />involvement of GEI staff while employed by GEI or predecessor firms and provides immediately transferable expertise in Florida
<br />regulatory requirements, coastal processes, and cost-eff ective project delivery.
<br />Florida Coastal and Regulatory Experience of Key Personnel
<br />Nick Bragaia has extensive experience supporting Florida coastal and environmental agencies, including Miami-Dade County
<br />DERM and FDEP. As coastal engineering consultant to Miami-Dade County, he assisted with management of the County's
<br />beach program, which oversees approximately 13 miles of shoreline. He developed integrated coastal models to evaluate
<br />currents, waves, and sediment transport, designed off shore breakwaters to address shoreline erosion, and provided hydrologic,
<br />hydraulic, and water quality modeling in support of the Biscayne Bay Water Quality Improvement Program. Mr. Bragaia
<br />also coordinated with FDEP's Bureau of Beaches and Coastal Systems on permitting for beach nourishment and shoreline
<br />stabilization projects throughout South Florida and supported the USACE Jacksonville District on a beneficial sediment reuse
<br />study and plan of action for Naval Air Station Key West.
<br />Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Experience
<br />Bridge Fender Replacement Designs, Dade and Palm Beach Counties, Florida (2019-2020)
<br />GEI served as geotechnical and structural design consultant for bridge fender replacement projects at the William Powell
<br />Bridge in Miami-Dade County and the Blue Heron Bridge in Palm Beach County. The projects were completed in accordance
<br />with FDOT standards and included structural and geotechnical analyses, preparation of design drawings and calculations,
<br />and construction-phase engineering support. GEI's composite pile and fender system was submitted as a value-engineered
<br />alternative and selected by FDOT, providing a durable and cost-eff ective solution.
<br />Representative Florida Coastal Experience
<br />GEI personnel have provided engineering services for a broad range of Florida waterfront and coastal infrastructure projects,
<br />including:
<br />• Indian Creek seawall replacement, City of Miami Beach
<br />• Municipal seawall rehabilitation projects in Boca Raton
<br />• Port Everglades and Tampa Harbor dredging and sand bypass projects
<br />• USACE beach nourishment and inlet maintenance projects
<br />• Marina and waterfront facility inspections
<br />• Shoreline stabilization and bulkhead rehabilitation projects
<br />• Construction-phase monitoring along the Intracoastal Waterway, Atlantic coastline, and navigable inlets
<br />These projects required coordination with FDEP, USACE, FDOT, United States Federal Emergency Management Association
<br />(FEMA) and local municipalities and demonstrate GEI's familiarity with Florida-specific permitting requirements, vessel-impact
<br />loading, coastal hazards, scour and erosion, sea-level rise considerations, and waterfront construction challenges.
