Plan the Work: Develop a work plan
with the City and the GEI Team to achieve
agreed-upon objectives and quality,
including scope, schedule, budget,
technical work, and work products.
Execute the Work: According to the plan,
with changes as appropriate as the work
progresses. Maintain a record of changes,
including the basis for the changes.
Document the Work: Create appropriate
records of relevant information to document
the work, including explorations, tests,
analyses, recommendations, work
products, sources of data, references, and
communications.
Check the Work: Document, by a qualified
independent person, the accuracy of
the work including methodology, data,
calculations, and presentation of results. This
documentation will be available to the City.
Review the Work: Perform an independent
review of the work plan, work execution,
results, recommendations, and documents
by a qualified reviewer of the GEI Team.
Deliver High Quality Documents:
Documents that are accurate, clear, concise,
complete, and reflect the GEI Team’s and
the City’s general format and appearance
expectations.
Maintain Open Communications: Keep the
City and project team informed of progress,
changes, issues, budget, schedule, and
results through timely, documented and
regularly scheduled communications.
THE SEVEN ELEMENTS OF GEI’S QA/QC PROCESS
QUALITY CONTROL /
QUALITY ASSURANCE
GEI maintains a formal Quality Management Program
designed to promote technical accuracy, document
consistency, regulatory compliance, and successful
project delivery. Quality assurance begins at project
initiation and continues through design, permitting,
construction, and project closeout.
Our QA/QC procedures include:
• Senior technical oversight throughout project
execution.
• Independent quality reviews by experienced
professionals not directly involved in document
preparation.
• Discipline-specific technical reviews.
• Constructability and coordination reviews.
• Verification of compliance with applicable codes,
standards, and permitting requirements.
• Final QA/QC reviews prior to submission of
deliverables to the City or regulatory agencies.
These procedures help minimize revisions, reduce
project risks, improve permit approval success rates,
and support efficient project delivery. By combining
strong project controls, cost management, schedule
monitoring, and formal QA/QC procedures, GEI
consistently delivers high-quality projects that
meet client expectations for budget, schedule, and
performance.
