As one of the largest civil engineering firms in Florida, Kimley-Horn offers the <br />City a single-source, in-house team spanning nearly every discipline anticipated under this contract—civil, <br />landscape architecture, electrical, surveying and mapping, environmental/coastal, transportation, structural, <br />MEP, and grants. This “under one roof” structure streamlines coordination, shortens response times, and <br />removes the hand-off risk that comes with assembling a team of outside firms. <br />FDOT EXPERIENCE. Kimley-Horn has extensive experience working with FDOT, including design services <br />for the SR 826 Connector at the Golden Glades Interchange in Miami-Dade County, which ties together <br />major arterials including I-95, SR 826, Florida’s Turnpike, SR 7, and NW 167th Street. Our team holds <br />FDOT certifications and is experienced in FDOT standards, permitting, and construction engineering and <br />inspection requirements, directly relevant to a city whose primary corridor, Collins Avenue (SR A1A), is an <br />FDOT District Six facility. <br />REGULATORY AGENCY EXPERIENCE. Our teams maintain established working relationships with the <br />agencies that govern work in Sunny Isles Beach and throughout Miami-Dade County. On the environmental <br />and civil side, we routinely coordinate with the Miami-Dade Department of Regulatory and Economic <br />Resources (DERM), the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP/FDEP), the US Army Corps <br />of Engineers (ACOE), the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD), the Miami-Dade Water and <br />Sewer Department (WASD), and NMB Water. On the transportation side, our staff coordinate regularly <br />with the Miami-Dade County Traffic Engineering Division, the Miami-Dade County Highway Construction <br />and Engineering Division, and FDOT District Six. Having navigated complex permitting for coastal, <br />environmental, roadway, and drainage projects across South Florida, we know these reviewers and the <br />order in which they must be engaged, which keeps surprises off the table and projects on schedule.
