48IWFLFTLD016838.2026 ARCHITECTURAL AND ENGINEERING CONSULTING SERVICES (CCNA) RFQ # 26-07-01 CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL Miami-Dade County DTPW Transit Planning Contract, Miami-Dade County, FL Since 2022, Kimley-Horn has provided professional services to Miami-Dade County for transit and multimodal planning projects. Kimley-Horn led the preparation of the first-ever Countywide Transportation Master Plan (CTMP). The CTMP will serve as a capital implementation plan for transit, pedestrian, bicycle, freight, roadway, and other transportation infrastructure projects for Miami-Dade County over the next 20 years. The Master Plan will define criteria for evaluating and prioritizing all DTPW transportation projects through a systematic, equitable, and efficient process informed by comprehensive stakeholder and public outreach. Kimley-Horn has also led the design of Electric Vehicle Charging Stations, as well as the evaluation and design of drop-off and pick-up areas along the South Corridor BRT Transitway. Additional responsibilities have included the development of program guidelines, program implementation support, and technical assistance for BRT deployment, as well as conducting the Aventura Intermodal Terminal Improvement Analysis. Currently, Kimley-Horn continues to provide in-house support to DTPW planning staff and assists the agency with various planning initiatives and tasks. A/E Services for Plan and Design Transit-Related Improvements, Homestead, FL Kimley-Horn is currently providing engineering and landscape design services for the City of Homestead’s plan to enhance pedestrian safety and streetscape in the Historical Downtown District and adjacent residential, commercial, and industrial neighborhoods. The project’s goal is to promote public transit use by improving trolley stop amenities with an appealing design that is consistent with the City’s current aesthetic. Residents will gain access to residential streets and public transit facilities. The proposed design will include upgrades to existing trolley stop facilities, streetscape design, sidewalk connectivity, drainage improvements, lighting improvements, roadway milling, and resurfacing, and widening. The project will be split into two phases. Phase I will include conceptual design and Public Involvement assistance with the City. Phase II will include the design of city-approved bus/trolley shelters as well as pedestrian and transit-related streetscape improvements. Kimley-Horn will compile all proposed improvements into one project as construction plan documents. Twenty (20) trolley shelters will be proposed at locations identified by the City within City trolley routes. Locations will be designed using current Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) guidelines. Additional shelter amenities (e.g., benches, bus/trolley signage, trash receptacles, or bike racks) will be proposed to the City where space and ADA criteria allow. Plans will be prepared using FDOT’s Plan Preparation Format and Standards for Roadway Construction Projects. Proposed improvements will be designed in accordance with the requirements, standards, and specifications of the City of Homestead, Miami-Dade County, Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and other guidelines, standards, and specifications where applicable.
