The <br />City of North Lauderdale faces recurrent flooding during significant storm events <br />due to backflow from the C-14 Canal. To mitigate this issue, the City retained <br />Kimley-Horn to design a new approximate 230 CFS stormwater pump station <br />north of Southgate Boulevard and south of the C-14 Canal. <br />IMPROVEMENTS TO SOUTH BAYSHORE DRIVE FROM DARWIN STREET <br />TO MERCY WAY, MIAMI, FL — Project Engineer. Designed roadway and <br />drainage improvements to mitigate flooding, enhance water quality, and improve <br />traffic safety. Scope included roadway elevation adjustments, a stormwater <br />collection system, exfiltration trenches, pollution control structures, culverts, French <br />drains, a new pump station, turn-lane enhancements, and traffic signal upgrades. <br />SR 907/ALTON ROAD FROM 5TH STREET TO MICHIGAN AVENUE (8,150 <br />LF), FDOT DISTRICT SIX* — Served as Engineer-of-Record for drainage design <br />of a 1.5-mile corridor stormwater management system. Cesar designed and <br />analyzed a gravity collection network conveying runoff to three 20,000 GPM <br />pump stations discharging to Biscayne Bay. Performed hydraulic modeling <br />in ICPR, ensuring compliance with FDOT District 6 and SFWMD criteria, and <br />prepared construction cost estimates for the proposed improvements. <br />19TH STREET STORMWATER PUMP STATION, MIAMI BEACH, FL* <br />Engineer-of-Record. This design-build project included the design, permitting, <br />and post-design services for twin 40,000 gpm stormwater pump stations on <br />19th Street, between Convention Center Drive and Meridian Avenue in Miami <br />Beach. Cesar was the EOR for the pump station, pollution control structure, and <br />trash rack structure and involved during construction to resolve field changes. <br />SW 336TH ST/DAVIS PARKWAY FROM SR 997/KROME AVE TO US-1 <br />(4,000 LF), FDOT DISTRICT SIX* — Project Engineer. Performed drainage <br />calculations, prepared the drainage report, and designed a self-contained <br />drainage system for the Krome Avenue widening and Davis Parkway <br />reconstruction project. Design included approximately 1,500 LF of French drain. <br />STORMWATER MASTER PLAN, IMPLEMENTATION UPDATE STUDY, KEY <br />BISCAYNE, FL* — Project Engineer. Supported the Virginia Key Beach (VKB) <br />Stormwater Master Plan Update for an 850-acre, tidally influenced coastal <br />watershed.
