RFQ #26-07-01 Continuing Professional Architectural and Engineering Consulting Services | 26MLA00190 <br />| Page 36 Staffing - Landscape ArchitectureSection 3 <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach Pelican Community Park - A <br />three-acre active park site, for which Miller Legg managed <br />landscape architecture, irrigation, engineering, surveying <br />and architecture designs for a baseball field, recreation <br />building, playground structure, gymnasium, and related site <br />amenities within the City of Sunny Isles Beach. The City <br />works jointly with Norman S. Edelcup/Sunny Isles Beach K-8 <br />School and offers a variety of seasonal programs for youth, <br />in addition to athletics and camps at the Park. The project <br />management team at Miller Legg received recognition from <br />the City for their involvement in the design completion of <br />the park. In addition, Miller Legg provided construction <br />observation services. In addition, we also provided grant <br />assistance to secure a Florida Recreational Development <br />Assistant Program (FRDAP) grant for $200,000. FRDAP is a <br />competitive grant program that provides financial assistance <br />to local governments for development or acquisition of land <br />for public outdoor recreational purposes. Award: Award <br />of Merit, American Society of Landscape Architects, Florida <br />Chapter, 2009 <br />City of Homestead Biscayne Everglades Trail Western <br />Expansion Feasibility Study - Miller Legg was retained to <br />conduct a feasibility study to assist the City of Homestead <br />in determining the preferred 3-mile route and trail design <br />for the alignment of the Western Extension of the existing <br />Biscayne Everglades Greenway Trail (BEGT). The Study Area <br />is from the C-103 Canal Crossing at East Mowry Drive to the <br />192nd Avenue intersection with West Mowry Drive. Miller <br />Legg’s scope comprises compilation of an existing conditions <br />inventory, preparation of a matrix of criteria to use in the <br />evaluation of the potential trail alignments, preparation of <br />various preliminary alignment alternatives with Opinions <br />of Probable Cost, development of a preferred alignment <br />with location, typical design, proposed enhancements, right <br />of way/property issues associated with implementation, <br />potential property acquisitions, followed by creation of the <br />Feasibility Report for presentation to the City Council. The <br />Study was funded by an FDOT SUN Trail Grant. <br />City of South Miami Parks and Recreation Master <br />Plan - Miller Legg prepared the first City of South Miami <br />Parks and Recreation Master Plan. The professional services <br />Professional Experience: <br />Mr. Kroll, President of Miller Legg, has been actively involved <br />in projects ranging from large scale habitat restoration to <br />international urban redevelopment projects. His 35+/-year <br />career has concentrated on planning, infrastructure, open <br />space, transportation and redevelopment, principally in <br />South Florida. <br />Mr. Kroll’s diverse professional experience has led to <br />projects that successfully integrate environmental, planning <br />and landscape architectural services. Under his leadership, <br />Miller Legg develops project solutions that respond to the <br />natural environment, respect the social fabric and create <br />sustainable aesthetic spaces. <br />Relevant Project Experience: <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach Landscape Ordinance Update <br />- Under our Landscape Architecture Continuing Services <br />Contract with the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Miller Legg <br />is reviewing and updating the City’s Landscape Ordinance, <br />specifically, Article X, creation of residential landscape <br />ordinances. Tasks include gathering and review ordinance <br />against relevant municipalities and Miami-Dade County <br />codes and standards, “Florida Grades and Standards for <br />Nursery Plants 2022, (Grades and Standards only apply to <br />nursery plants) ANSI A-300, University of Florida Institute <br />of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS) and other relevant <br />standards for conformity to industry standards. <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach Gwen Margolis Park and <br />Pelican Community Park Artificial Turf - The project <br />consisted of the reconstruction of existing natural turf fields <br />at Pelican Community Park and Senator Gwen Margolis Park <br />in the City of Sunny Isles Beach with artificial turf. Miller <br />Legg provided the preparation and permitting of drainage <br />plans to collect under the new drain systems installed as <br />part of the project, as well as surveying services.
