RFQ #26-07-01 Continuing Professional Architectural and Engineering Consulting Services | 26MLA00190 | Page 7 Company Information - Regulatory Agency ExperienceSection 1 Through our corporate experience of developing landscape architectural designs for FDOT, municipal, county, State and Federal projects, Miller Legg understands the standards of these agencies and integrates their criteria in all designs to minimize the design review time required for final approval. Our multidisciplinary staff provides the advantage of having diverse knowledge and backgrounds in permitting at our disposal to assist in any permitting process. Miller Legg’s Project Manager, Michael Bradley, RLA, has direct experience attaining permits throughout the state, municipal, and local permitting agencies such as Miami-Dade County’s Traffic Engineering Division and Highway Construction and Engineering Division, Department of Environmental Resource Management (DERM), Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE), Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), and the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD). Our Team’s permitting experience in Florida includes attaining most permits potentially associated with landscape architecture projects, such as tree removal and relocation permits, water use permits for irrigation, and a wide range of environmental permits. Miller Legg’s designs in South Florida have also adhered to design criteria for public health, safety, and welfare; clear sight; recovery zones; and accessibility issues at both the local and state level. Miller Legg has landscape architectural experience working with FDOT Districts throughout the state, including District 6 and has performed Plans Review and a variety of design services for more than 25 years on multiple contracts. This gives our Team unparalleled experience in proactively addressing FDOT’s requirements, which can expedite the permitting of FDOT-related work for this Contract. In addition to our experience in plans review at FDOT, the landscape architecture Team at Miller Legg has also worked with local municipalities, to lead the Plans Review process for planning and landscape architecture components of a proposed development. In tandem with our survey, environmental, and engineering department, Miller Legg also has vast experience navigating permitting processes associated with environmentally-sensitive ecosystems and wildlife communities through local agencies. Our Team also regularly works to attain permits from state and federal agencies such as the DEP and US ACOE to realize Florida projects in coastal and wetland areas. Major projects include work at Broward County’s West Lake Park and Port Everglades. Since many landscape architecture projects can involve improvements in and near environmentally-sensitive lands, our vast experience in permitting such projects can ensure that the designs will be done in an efficient and compliant manner. Working with some of the above permitting agencies for more than 25 years makes Miller Legg uniquely qualified to handle permitting through Miami-Dade County. To assist our clients in maintaining permit compliance, Miller Legg has developed a user-friendly web- based project management application that includes interactive mapping features. This application used by the School Board of Broward County and University of Central Florida, enables Miller Legg staff as well as other stakeholders to easily access and use maps, aerial imagery and other data to view permit activity for our projects. It can be expanded to encompass each subject property.
