rFQ # 26-07-01 • CoNtINUING ProFeSSIoNAL ArCHIteCtUrAL AND
eNGINeerING CoNSULtING ServICeS (CCNA)P261925As the City of Sunny Isles Beach continues to grow, there will be an
ongoing need to repair, rehabilitate, assess, renovate, expand, and
construct resilient coastal public infrastructure that supports the
community, while advancing the vision of the Comprehensive Plan
2030 and the Coastal Management Goals. Our approach is centered on
delivering projects that protect and enhance the City's coastal resources,
expand public waterfront access, support water-dependent and water-
related uses, and improve resilience to flooding, storm surge, hurricanes,
and sea level rise. These efforts align with the Comprehensive
Plan 2030 goals for protecting the Intracoastal Waterway, coastal
wetlands, mangroves, beaches, dune systems, and shoreline resources
while enhancing public access through walkways, greenways, and
environmentally compatible waterfront improvements.
Our multidisciplinary team of engineers and planners is prepared to
support the City with environmental, coastal and marine and resilience
planning services. Our approach emphasizes early coordination,
practical engineering solutions, and proactive permitting strategies
that help the City efficiently advance projects from concept through
construction. Through innovative design and sound engineering
practices, we will help implement projects that advance coastal resource
protection, public access, environmental stewardship, hazard mitigation,
and long-term resilience consistent with the City’s goals.
Our Approach:
Moffatt & Nichol believes that the key to success in managing
on-call or work order-based contracts is the ability to
tailor the management style and staff to meet the unique
requirements of each task assignment. On-call task assignments
can encompass various types of planning, design, procurement
documents, and the supervision and management of construction.
Moffatt & Nichol knows what it takes to meet the needs of a
community through our past and current experience supporting a
number of communities in South Florida, including Village of Key
Biscayne, City of Miami, City of Miami Beach, Miami-Dade County, City
of Hollywood, Town of Palm Beach, and others.
Our goal is to provide the level of management, reporting,
and communication that is appropriate for each task
assignment. Consultants working with the City need to be
accustomed to dynamic project requirements, and Moffatt &
Nichol is able to be adaptive so that we can meet or exceed
the City’s requirements. We are equally agile with both
large and small projects dependent on the requirements,
with a methodology that is grounded in management,
coordination, scheduling, and careful progress checks.
Regardless of project size, deploying QA/QC procedures is
both continuous and with scheduled milestone reviews (by
the most experienced talent in the firm) assuring a high-
quality product.
I want to echo the mayor’s
compliments. I have heard from
many, many, many members of
our community that they really
felt that you were listening and
that you heard their concerns,
and you can see the quality of
the work and the reflection of
the community input. Thank
you so much. I feel like we
have seen what it should look
like when we hire outside
consultants to do something for
us. You’ve set a high bar and
it’s very much appreciated.”
