4. Approach | Methodology
Based on the City of
Sunny Isles Beach’s Capital
Improvement Program (CIP),
the City faces the ongoing
challenge of improving
flood-prone areas through
strategic stormwater
infrastructure investments.
Based on the City of
Sunny Isles Beach’s Capital
Improvement Program
(CIP), the City faces the
challenge of enhancing
its public transportation
infrastructure by replacing
aging bus benches and
shelters throughout the
community while improving
transit accessibility and
passenger experience.
PDS supports flood mitigation initiatives through
precise surveying and mapping services that provide
reliable existing conditions data for resilient stormwater
infrastructure design. Under Project No. 19-014 Dania
Beach Southeast Drainage Improvements Phase 2,
PDS completed a 26,000 LF topographic route survey
for a 500-acre flood-prone area, mapping roadways,
drainage features, utilities, and right-of-way conditions
to support stormwater improvements.
Similarly, under Project No. 19-20-019 Citywide
Program Management Support Services, PDS
performed topographic and right-of-way surveys
covering approximately 26,550 LF of roadway for
the East Flagami Stormwater Infrastructure Project,
documenting existing infrastructure and site
conditions to support flood mitigation improvements.
This experience provides the accurate geospatial
data needed to help the City of Sunny Isles Beach
plan, design, and implement effective drainage
improvements in flood-prone areas.
PDS supports transit infrastructure improvements
through accurate surveying and mapping services that
establish existing conditions for the planning, design,
and implementation of accessible transit facilities.
Our approach includes detailed field data collection,
utility and site feature mapping, ADA assessments,
and reliable survey deliverables to support efficient
decision-making and constructible improvements.
Our experience includes PNC2119245P1 Consultant
Services for Transit Surveys, Infrastructure, and Shelter
Designs, where PDS provided surveying services for
20 work orders and approximately 500 bus shelters/
stops, including data collection for ADA-compliant
transit improvements. Through V1018717R1 Architectural
and Engineering Services for the Transit Division, PDS
also supported surveying and mapping for more than
845 bus stops across 79 work orders. This experience
demonstrates PDS’s ability to deliver accurate
geospatial data and coordinated survey support to
help the City of Sunny Isles Beach modernize transit
amenities and improve accessibility.
Challenge PDS Approach
Challenge PDS Approach
60
