4. Approach | Methodology
Based on the City of
Sunny Isles Beach’s Capital
Improvement Program
(CIP), the City faces the
challenge of enhancing
its public transportation
infrastructure by replacing
aging bus benches and
shelters throughout the
community while improving
transit accessibility and
passenger experience.
PDS supports park modernization initiatives through
comprehensive surveying and mapping services
that provide accurate existing conditions data for the
planning, design, and implementation of functional,
accessible, and enhanced recreational facilities. Services
include topographic mapping, boundary verification,
utility location, tree surveys, and documentation of
existing site conditions to support efficient design
development.
Our experience includes Project No. 12308-296 Parks
Bond and Parks Master Plan Design Implementation
Services, where PDS provided surveying and
underground utility location services for the City of
Fort Lauderdale’s Parks Bond Program, supporting
improvements across more than 250 acres and 25
park locations. Under Project No. 2019-18 Parks Bond
Program Management Services, PDS performed
boundary, topographic, ALTA-compliant surveys, utility
and drainage mapping, sidewalk documentation,
and tree inventories for the City of Doral’s park
improvements, including a 5.5-acre (240,000 SF) survey
area. This experience demonstrates PDS’s ability to
deliver precise surveying and mapping solutions that
support successful park modernization while addressing
accessibility, functionality, and community needs.
Challenge PDS Approach
Project Execution Framework
A. Project Development Lifecycle.
PDS follows a structured, repeatable lifecycle to ensure consistency, transparency, and
control:
Project Initiation & Scope Review
Research & Pre-Field Planning
A kickoff scoping meeting establishes
project goals, scope, budget, schedule,
permitting needs, and risk factors.
Conduct boundary research, review
existing records, coordinate utilities,
plan survey control, obtain permits, and
prepare field logistics.
61
