TRAFFIC AND TRANSPORTATION ENGINEERING <br />RELEVANT PROJECTS <br />CITY OF MIAMI TRANSPORTATION SUPPORT SERVICES CONTRACT - NEIGHBORHOOD TRAFFIC <br />CALMING STUDIES <br /> Miami, FL <br />As part of a Transportation Support Services contract, Kimley-Horn assisted the City of Miami with the determination of <br />appropriate traffic calming improvements to enhance the quality of life for several neighborhoods City-wide. Kimley-Horn has <br />been the primary consultant in the development of traffic calming plans for numerous City neighborhoods, assisting City staff <br />in addressing traffic calming requests and maintaining an inventory of traffic calming requests, mapping traffic calming request <br />locations, conducting field investigations to determine appropriate traffic calming measures and locations, coordinating with <br />Miami-Dade County, and preparing traffic calming analysis reports outlining the feasibility of installing traffic calming devices. <br />Kimley-Horn is assisting City staff indocumenting and addressing traffic concerns raised by constituents which include safety, <br />speeding, and cut-through traffic complaints by providing traffic volume and speed data along identified roadway segments. <br />The data is used to determine if traffic calming measures are warranted and the type of traffic calming measures to <br />be installed <br />CITY OF CORAL GABLES TRAFFIC IMPACT STUDIES CONSULTANT CONTRACT <br /> Coral Gables, FL <br />Kimley-Horn is one of the selected traffic engineering firms in the City of Coral Gables to assess the traffic impacts of new <br />development within the City per a recently adopted ordinance in which traffic impact studies are conducted by the City and <br />funded by the applicant. Tasks included performing all facets of traffic impact analysis including methodology development/ <br />coordinatization, data collection, existing conditions analysis, future traffic projection, background conditions analysis, project <br />trip generation/distribution/assignment, future traffic analysis, queuing analysis, entry gate analysis, and valet operations <br />analysis. Site plan reviews examine maneuverability, traffic circulation, and loading bay operations. Kimley-Horn recently <br />completed the first assignment using this approach to traffic impact review for the Ponce Tower development project located <br />on the southwest corner of Catalonia Avenue and Ponce de Leon Boulevard. <br />FDOT TRAFFIC OPERATIONS STUDIES CONSULTANT CONTRACT – TRAFFIC ENGINEERING RELATED <br />STUDIES: BOTTLENECK ANALYSIS <br /> Miami-Dade County, FL <br />As part of multiple task work orders issued from a Districtwide Traffic Operations Studies contract with FDOT, Kimley-Horn <br />conducted a bottleneck analysis at several locations identified and prioritized by the District for future study. The bottleneck <br />studies involved the analysis of existing conditions at several intersections along identified corridor segments to evaluate <br />potential short-term, low cost treatments to reduce the duration and intensity of congestion while improving mobility through <br />the intersection. Kimley-Horn collected traffic data, conducted field reviews, and utilized both macroscopic traffic analysis <br />software (Synchro) and microsimulation traffic analysis software (VISSIM) to evaluate measures of effectiveness (MOE) and <br />develop recommendations. <br />RFQ-26-07-01-0-2026/GC <br />33
