<br />Professional Services for Transit and Public Works Projects, Miami-Dade Department
<br />of Transportation and Public Works, Miami, FL — Project engineer. In 2022, Kimley-Horn
<br />was selected by the Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW)
<br />to perform professional and technical services for DTPW to support the development of various
<br />DTPW plans and studies; detailed site plans; technical and operational planning; transit studies;
<br />environmental review and studies in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act; and
<br />public involvement activities. These professional services will support DTPW with infrastructure
<br />facilities and system engineering, planning, analysis, and design to support the Strategic Miami
<br />Area Rapid Transit Plan corridor studies and design. The Work Orders that have been performed
<br />under this contract to date have included a Bonnet Bat Survey, East-West Corridor Project
<br />Management Support, the Countywide Transportation Master Plan, Electric Vehicle Charging Station
<br />Design at Lehman Center, The Rickenbaker Causeway Master Plan, South Dade Trail Design, South
<br />Dade Busway Pick-up/Drop-off Area Conceptual Design, Lehman Rail Curve Realignment, Program
<br />Development Design Guidelines, and the Aventura Intermodal Terminal Conceptual Design.
<br />Town of Cutler Bay Continuing Stormwater Services (Stormwater Master Plan), Cutler
<br />Bay, FL — Project engineer. Kimley-Horn developed a stormwater master plan to address flood
<br />protection activities for its residents and to protect the environmental quality of its canals. Kimley-
<br />Horn also developed a stormwater management report to assist the Town in creating a stormwater
<br />utility, which generates a dedicated stream of revenue to implement capital improvements and
<br />maintain an operation and maintenance program associated with the stormwater system. In
<br />addition, Kimley-Horn developed the stormwater utility fee methodology and established the range
<br />of rates for the utility to implement improvements. The project tasks included compiling data,
<br />developing a stormwater master plan, developing a stormwater management report, and assisting
<br />the Town in joining the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) so the community has future
<br />access to federally-funded flood insurance, and submitting applications and program approach for
<br />an anticipated Community Rating System (CRS) rating of 6.
<br />Fort Lauderdale Transportation and Public Spaces Planning Engineering Continuing
<br />Services, Fort Lauderdale, FL — Project engineer. Kimley-Horn serves as prime consultant
<br />providing comprehensive transportation planning and engineering services to the City of Fort
<br />Lauderdale on a continuing basis since 2020. Services span the full project lifecycle, including
<br />multimodal master planning, Complete Streets design, intersection and corridor analysis, safety
<br />improvements, parking management consulting, structural assessments, landscape architecture,
<br />and community outreach. The team supports both the City’s transportation and parking divisions,
<br />delivering conceptual and final design plans, construction specifications, technical reports, and
<br />public engagement materials. Notable task orders include the SR A1A Streetscape Improvements,
<br />Las Olas Boulevard Complete Streets redesign and parking garage, Arts and Science District
<br />Garage Structural Analysis, Oakland Park Parking study, and Neighborhood Sidewalk Improvements.
<br />Kimley-Horn’s team includes subconsultants for geotechnical and MEP engineering services, and
<br />the firm’s Plantation, Miami, and West Palm Beach offices all contribute to contract delivery.
