<br />Districtwide Traffic Operations Safety Studies, FDOT District Four, FL — Project engineer.
<br />Kimley-Horn is performing task work orders ranging from safety studies, safety reviews, fatal
<br />crash reviews, lighting assessments, minor designs, crosswalk warrant analysis, operational
<br />analysis, and qualitative assessments. Involves in all facets of the contract including field reviews,
<br />countermeasure development, economic analysis, documentation, stakeholder coordination,
<br />presentations, scope development, and subconsultant management. Kimley-Horn is providing traffic
<br />operations and safety studies services through a task work order based contract for initiatives to
<br />improve safety for all road users. Work orders include intersection and corridor safety studies, 3R
<br />safety reviews, pedestrian and bicycle safety assessments, crosswalk warrant analysis, lighting
<br />feasibility studies, concept plan development, and operational analysis. This contract was recently
<br />renewed.
<br />ITS and Smart Parking System Program Management, Miami Beach, FL — Project
<br />engineer. Kimley-Horn is developing a project system engineering management plan, concept
<br />of operations, project plan, and procurement documents for a Smart Cities initiative combining
<br />ITS and smart parking. The project will deploy cameras, arterial dynamic message signs, vehicle
<br />detection, parking occupancy information to communicate real time traffic and parking conditions
<br />throughout the City. Also through this contract, Kimley-Horn is providing hot spot signal timing
<br />support for the City of Miami Beach in coordination with Miami-Dade County.
<br />Districtwide Complete Streets Contract, FDOT District Six, South Miami, FL — Project
<br />engineer. Kimley-Horn is currently supporting FDOT District Six, performing professional services
<br />and development, evaluation, and implementation of complete streets projects through an ongoing
<br />districtwide contract. The goal of this contract is to improve corridor safety, mobility and access,
<br />and quality of life for all transportation users. Kimley-Horn’s duties include the preparation of
<br />Complete Street Analysis for arterials or collector road corridors, context-sensitive multimodal
<br />community transportation network planning, and cost feasible complete street improvements and
<br />strategy identification. Deliverables include recommendations for cost feasible improvements/
<br />strategies and summary of associated project phasing and funding. In addition, Kimley-Horn is
<br />responsible for various tasks including review of Complete Streets pilot program evaluations,
<br />plan reviews, design plan development, GIS mapping, and context classification review of FDOT
<br />roadways and projects.
<br />Leading Pedestrian Interval Feasibility Studies, FDOT District Six, FL — Project
<br />engineer. Kimley-Horn is conducting a Leading Pedestrian Interval (LPI) Need assessment for five
<br />intersections along SR 5/Biscayne Boulevard in Miami-Dade County. Tasks include analyzing crash
<br />data, summarizing turning movement and pedestrian volumes, performing Synchro analysis for two
<br />peak periods for the existing and proposed conditions, and coordinating with Miami-Dade County
<br />Traffic Signals and Signs Division to obtain input for draft recommendations
