lane checks and facility type checks in the network, toll checks, model validation, cross checking model volume vs FTO traffic counts, removing unnecessary stud links.
Richmond TPO On-Call Modeling/Planning Assistance, Richmond, VA | Data Scientist – Mr. Mojumder reviewed several planning applications, including the forecasts for the multimodal corridor study and the TPO long-range transportation plan developed by Mr. Varanasi. The task involved running models for different LRTP plans and displaying the results on a dashboard. The dashboard shows the index values of various scenarios. Mr. Mojumder created the dashboard to present the model results. Additionally, he participated in testing and fixing several bugs in the models.
FDOT D4, Districtwide Models Support Contracts and Treasure Coast Regional Planning Model | Transportation Modeler – Mr. Mojumder supports the day-to-day operations of this contract. Under the contract, Mr. Mojumder successfully managed several work orders including the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Model Version 6 ABM development, TCRPM regional plan forecasts development support. Mr. Mojumder also performed Southeast Florida Regional Planning Model (SERPM8) model review tasks under this contract.
FDOT D4, I-95 Corridor Study | Transportation Planner – Conducted a thorough corridor analysis of the I-95 corridor by updating and calibrating the TCRPM 5.1 travel demand model to evaluate three build alternatives—general-use lanes, truck-only lanes, and non-toll managed lanes—against a 2045 no-build scenario. Validated the 2015 base year and 2045 future year networks through systematic review and refinement of key features such as lane configurations, posted speeds, traffic signals, and turn penalties. Incorporated future land use data by assessing major residential and commercial developments within the study area and updating the corresponding Traffic Analysis Zone (TAZ) inputs.
I-95 PD&E Study I-595 to Ives Dairy – From I-595 to Ives Dairy Road, the traffic was forecast for year 2050. The forecast includes DDHV for different time periods and for different alternatives. Using the existing seed matrix, OD matrixes were also produced for both AM and PM peak hours.
FDOT D4, Monterey Extension PD&E Study – To study alternatives on Monterey Road, Martin County, Florida, a study was conducted using TCRPM5.1model results. TMTool was used for Turning movement, Prepared balanced DDHV for different peak period with their graphics. A brief document was prepared to analyze the Monterey Extension report.
Activity-Based Modeling Framework with the Presence of Automated Connected Electric Shared Vehicle (ACES) Using SERPM8 | Research Associate – Mr. Mojumder investigated the impact of ACES vehicles towards Southeast Florida Region for the presence of automated vehicles in different households using SERPM8. The study considered different scenarios such as presence of AV on shared mobility, change of parents’ behavior due to reducing escorting activities and automation in Buses were the main three major scenarios of this study.
Purbachal Canal and Expressway, Dhaka - Bangladesh | Project Coordinator– As part of the team, Mr. Mojumder engaged in preparing drawing & design of U-loops, arch bridges & Expressway along with two artificial canals. Supervised as a consultant and ensured the quality of the construction by doing various tests. The task required to prepare traffic impact assessment report using microsimulation software. Mr. Mojumder coordinated the team to collect traffic data in several spots and processed the data for input into VISSIM.
