At a minimum, our existing models need to evolve. Corradino and the Town of Palm Beach partnered with StreetLight Data to obtain a license for the Big Data available through the Streetlight InSight Data platform. StreetLight InSight users can access customized analytics like Origin-Destination, select link, travel time, speed percentiles, routing, and more. Corradino used the Streetlight InSight Data platform, with 44 traffic analysis zones defined by area type, to evaluate the origins and destinations of external and internal trips. South Florida Commuter Services seeks to reduce vehicle miles traveled (VMT) in South Florida through a variety of Transportation Demand Management (TDM) strategies, including carpooling, vanpooling, working from home, flexible work schedules, mass transit, bicycling, walking, park-and-ride facilities, and guaranteed ride home. Corradino has the expertise to provide these traffic engineering tools to provide similar analysis for the City. <br />Integration of Transportation and Land Use <br />The Corradino Team approach combines transportation and land use planning to produce integrated and innovative solutions that achieve sustainable community goals – where transportation enhances and supports, rather than burdens, a community’s quality of life. Our approach to TOD integrates transportation and land-use planning to create connected, walkable, and transit-supportive communities. We focus on station areas and corridors as catalysts for higher-density, mixed-use, human-scale development, framed by complete-street networks and active-transportation infrastructure. Through our transit-oriented plans and designs, we not only foster multimodal connectivity and transit use but also support increased walking and cycling, with the fundamental recognition that pedestrian-scale development, transit, and multimodal infrastructure play a major role in improving public health and livability. By ensuring cost-effective transportation networks and services, we enable our cities to move people and goods more efficiently, resulting in a higher return on each transportation investment. In practice, this means that concentrating higher-density, mixed-use, human-scale development in transit-supportive areas will provide well-connected, well-designed networks of streets and corridors and create walking- and cycling-friendly communities. Places planned and built this way have proven to be particularly livable, sustainable, and resilient.Corradino knows from research and experience that how we plan and design our communities has a profound impact on travel behavior. That is why we embed Transportation Demand Management (TDM) strategies into our TOD planning from the outset. This integration <br />ensures that mobility needs are met sustainably while minimizing reliance on single-occupancy vehicles. Our TDM approach includes parking reform policies, shared parking arrangements, first- and last-mile solutions, employer-based commute programs, and targeted incentives to increase transit, walking, and cycling trips. Wayfinding, real-time information, and behavioral nudges are also incorporated to help shift mode choice and improve the user experience. By combining TOD and TDM, we help communities make the most of existing infrastructure, reduce congestion, lower environmental impacts, and foster healthier, more resilient neighborhoods. <br />Transit-Oriented Design is an important component of the work underway in South Florida. Our team members have proven track records of delivering solutions that integrate transportation and TOD expertise, sound land-use planning, and urban design creativity with real, practical regulatory and implementation strategies. The portfolio of experience from our full team of consultants demonstrates how thoughtful planning and strategic investments can transform station areas into vibrant, accessible hubs of daily life. For each of these studies, we explored scenarios to provide cities with guidance and tools to foster the walkable, connected, transit-supportive places they had envisioned. Our experience includes developing integrated land-use and transportation strategies to create transit-supportive development patterns, preparing station-area plans for transit systems, and developing multimodal transportation solutions to enhance transit station areas. Our expertise in creative urban design and context-sensitive solutions, combined with our technical understanding of transit operations and engineering, allows us to provide station area and TOD planning solutions that are grounded in technical and operational realities and can be advanced to implementation.
