Corradino has conducted Corridor planning projects in which various growth scenarios were developed and tested, as well as multimodal forecasting analyses. At the core of our transportation planning is the concept that land use and transportation are inextricably linked, and that multimodal access requires a keen understanding of available space, land use, and a prioritization scheme for each mode of transportation, tailored to local corridor conditions and the mode’s role in the overall transportation network. <br />Corradino’s planning staff has gone beyond the idea of Complete Streets to incorporate the concept of “Complete Networks” for master planning. This “layered network” approach ensures that each mode of transportation’s long-term grid is acknowledged and that, when all the various grids are compared with one another and with the existing infrastructure, context-sensitive Complete Streets corridors can be identified. In the long term, this enables easier alternatives analysis, including public explanation, and a better understanding of project bundling for implementation planning, resulting in cost savings. This also allows us to evaluate better existing and proposed routes in our transit studies by incorporating “first and last mile” approaches. <br />Corradino’s traffic engineers and planners regularly assess the level of service for each mode (pedestrian, bicycling, transit, and vehicular travel) and at the overall multimodal level. <br />In the recent St. Cloud Transportation Master Plan, Corradino evaluated the current and future levels of service as provided in the regional planning model. During this study, we also had to re-evaluate the roadway network critically, reclassifying some roadways in the system and designating new roadways and associated classifications to account for future growth. Corradino was also selected by the Village of Palm Springs to create a Mobility Plan to guide its future multimodal development. This work has been completed, and the Village has begun implementing some of the short-term improvements. <br />Corradino’s traffic engineering services provide corridor analyses, speed studies, and pedestrian studies as needed. As needed, Corradino will coordinate with CTS Engineering to collect speed and volume counts and analysis of the traffic data to provide the 85th percentile travel speeds for each road segment. A traffic study memorandum documenting the findings was provided, including recommendations based on the identified 85th-percentile travel speeds and traffic volumes from the traffic data collection for each road segment. Work will be conducted with the Traffic Engineering Manual thresholds. <br />Corradino’s Project Manager for this contract prepared a comprehensive multimodal corridor vision study for the City of Fort Lauderdale from Andrews Avenue to State Road A1A. Corradino is proud to have supported the City of Fort Lauderdale in reimagining the future of one of South Florida’s most iconic corridors. Corradino’s Corridor Study resulted in a transformative streetscape vision for Las Olas Boulevard, laying the foundation for a healthier, more vibrant, and future-ready city. As part of our Vision Study, Corradino recommended midblock crosswalks in the Isles Character areas to enhance pedestrian safety and address speeding concerns. Today, two of those crosswalks—one east of S. Gordon Road and one east of Fiesta Way—have been installed by the City, helping to create a more walkable, connected corridor. Corradino’s services included traffic flow analysis, crash and speed data reviews, and future modeling to support a redesign that prioritizes multimodal access, placemaking, and economic vitality, all aligned with Fort Lauderdale’s Vision Zero and Complete Streets goals. <br />Bicycle and Pedestrian Planning/Studies <br />The active transportation field is evolving as new technologies and best practices develop. By facilitating
