The firm has experience working with the City of Sunny Isles Beach and various other municipalities in South Florida, including numerous clients and coastal communities in Miami-Dade County. Corradino has established a strong reputation for technical excellence, responsiveness, and attention to detail on projects ranging from focused transportation studies to complex, multidisciplinary design assignments. The firm has a deep understanding of how municipalities operate, which enables it to effectively advocate for its clients’ needs throughout the implementation process. Corradino has also achieved success in coordinating with a wide range of intergovernmental agencies, including the Miami-Dade Department of Transportation and Public Works, Miami-Dade Transit, the Miami-Dade Transportation Planning Organization, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), the South Florida Water Management District, the South Florida Regional Planning Council, and the Miami-Dade County Public Schools. These projects were designed to meet the criteria set by Miami-Dade County DTPW and FDOT. | PERMITTING EXPERTISE Corradino has worked in Miami-Dade County for over 30 years, gaining extensive experience in securing permits for transportation, traffic engineering, roadway, drainage, and multimodal projects. Our team understands the importance of integrating permitting requirements into the design process from the outset to avoid delays, minimize risk, and maintain project schedules. We have significant expertise in managing complex permitting efforts for municipalities and transportation agencies across South Florida. By proactively coordinating with permitting agencies and responding promptly to comments, we streamline reviews and efficiently address concerns throughout the project development process.Below is a list of the possible types of permits involved in engineering contracts: • Miami-Dade County Department of Environmental Resources Management (DERM): Environmental permits Class I through VI. The procedure includes identifying the types of permits required for the project, incorporating DERM criteria and requirements during the design phase, submitting plans at the 60% phase for DERM review, and ensuring timely coordination and response to review comments. • US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE): This type of permit is needed on projects involving the aquatic environment and outstanding Florida waters. The procedure includes a pre-permit application meeting to coordinate permit requirements, followed by the submission of construction documents. The permit will be obtained after addressing any comments received. • South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD): Environmental Resource Permits (ERP) are required for any projects discharging into or influencing SFWMD-owned canals. The procedure includes incorporating SFWMD criteria and requirements during the design phase, submitting plans at the 60% phase for SFWMD review, and ensuring timely coordination and response to review comments. • South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD): Right-of-Way permits are required for any projects impacting SFWMD canal right-of-way. The procedure includes incorporating SFWMD criteria and requirements during the design phase, submitting plans at the 60% phase for SFWMD review, and ensuring timely coordination and response to review comments. • National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES): This permit is required for all construction activities to prevent the discharge of construction pollutants from a project site. The procedure includes developing erosion control and sedimentation plans during the design process and continues with the implementation and monitoring of proposed Best Management Practices (BMPs). • Miami-Dade County Department of Environmental Resources Management (DERM): Tree removal
