The objective <br />of this corridor design project is to provide optimized signal timing plans based on <br />the real-time traffic demands, then reduce traffic congestion and improve safety along <br />Hallandale Beach Blvd. from SR-7 to A1A and US-1 from SE 9th St. to Atlantic Shores <br />Blvd. The project entailed traffic signal control system improvements to support ATCS <br />and signal performance measures at 26 signalized intersections within the project <br />limits and in the County’s Transportation Management Center (TMC). <br />These design improvements upgrade at least 18 existing signal cabinets and <br />controllers to be NEMA type VI cabinets and 2070 LN ATC controllers, replace the <br />existing stop bar video detection with the new one capable of high-resolution data <br />collection, add advanced mainline detection that is compatible with the selected <br />ATCS software.
