The traffic calming study intends to provide recommendations for traffic calming devices to improve speeding concerns and related problems identified by the subject neighborhood. Some of the issues include cut-thru traffic and speeding in the neighborhood.
The Miami-Dade County Street Closure and Traffic Flow Modification Manual criteria will be used to evaluate potential traffic calming improvements. The traffic analysis and study were limited to the City of Doral public right-of-way roadway corridors. The scope of services included extensive traffic data collection, traffic operational analysis at 12 key road segments in the city, a 5-Year Crash Analysis, a Traffic Calming Improvement Plan, and a technical memorandum that summarized these critical scope-of-work items.
A traffic calming improvement program was developed with costs and prioritized based on the potential crash and speed reduction. This project included a robust public information and outreach program, including multiple workshop meetings to obtain resident feedback.
CLIENT NAMECLIENT NAMECity of Doral
ADDRESSADDRESS8401 NW 53rd Terrace Doral, FL 33166
CONTACT PERSONCONTACT PERSONRita Carbonell Public Works Assistant Director
PHONE NUMBERPHONE NUMBER 305.593.6740 Ext 6015
EMAIL EMAIL rita.carbonell@cityofdoral.com
PROJECT START DATEPROJECT START DATE 2015
PROJECT COMPLETION DATEPROJECT COMPLETION DATE Ongoing
CONTRACT TYPE CONTRACT TYPE GEC/GPC
PROJECT COST PROJECT COST Work Order Based
SCOPE OF SERVICE SCOPE OF SERVICE Traffic Calming Study
SECTION EIGHT TRAFFIC CALMING STUDY
CITY OF DORAL
