<br />Jose specializes in civil engineering, with expertise in roadway design,
<br />signalization, Signing and Pavement Marking (S&PM), storm drainage, and
<br />utility relocations. He has served as Engineer of Record (EOR) for various
<br />Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) projects, including districtwide
<br />resurfacing, safety improvements, and signalization upgrades. Jose has

<br />FDOT District 4, S.R. 7/U.S. 441 Transit Corridor Improvements LAP
<br />Project Task 1.
<br />Roadway Engineer responsible for designing roadway improvements
<br />from the Miami-Dade/Broward County Line to north of Sample Road and
<br />S.R. 858/Hallandale Beach Boulevard from Edmund Road to SW 58th
<br />Avenue, throughout 25 intersections that include “yield to pedestrian”
<br />signs, countdown pedestrian signals, lighting retrofits, ADA ramps, high-
<br />emphasis crosswalks, a new signalized restricted crossing, sidewalk and
<br />bike lane construction, widening, and flexible pavement design. The design
<br />also involved improvements for Shared-Use Paths (SUPs) and sidewalks on
<br />S.R. 7/U.S. 441 between Oakes Road and the New River Greenway, and S.R.
<br />838/Sunrise Boulevard from S.R. 7/U.S. 441 to NW 31st Avenue. Jose was
<br />also responsible for necessary interdisciplinary coordination. The design
<br />improvements excelled in increasing passenger transit and enhancing overall
<br />patron experiences.

<br />FDOT District 4, S.R. 7/U.S. 441 Transit Corridor Improvements LAP
<br />Project Task 2.
<br />Roadway Engineer for the this project, which enhanced pedestrian and
<br />bicycle connectivity along S.R. 7/U.S. 441, providing safer and more accessible
<br />pathways. A 6’ sidewalk was installed, while an 8’ to 12’ Shared-Use Path
<br />(SUP) connected Oakes Road to Greenway Park and Riverland Wood Park.
<br />Additionally, a 10’ SUP was planned linking residential areas and parks. Also
<br />included in the scope of services to ensure safety were Signing and Pavement
<br />Marking (S&PM) and high-emphasis crosswalks with lighting. Signalization
<br />upgrades included push-button countdowns at key intersections along S.R.
<br />7/U.S. 441, pedestrian detection enhancements, and a midblock Rectangular Rapid-Flashing Beacon (RRFB)
