BEAarchitects <br />experience <br />Mr. Colao has over 30 years of architectural experience, ranging from design to on-site construc- <br />tion management. He is an expert in code requirements and coordinating a variety of engineering <br />disciplines. As partner and senior vice president of BEA, he manages large scale public and private <br />sector projects involving cruise terminals, retail facilities and office buildings. <br />North Trail Park Recreation Center, Miami-Dade County Park & Recreation Department. <br />Project manager for complete architectural and engineering services were provided for this 4,450 <br />-SF recreational facility that included multipurpose rooms, a game room, an arts-and-crafts room, <br />offices, restrooms and a kitchen. Storage for athletic equipment outside of the recreational center <br />was also designed. <br />Ives Estate Recreation Facility, Miami-Dade Park & Recreation Department. Project manager <br />for complete architectural and engineering services were provided for this 3,000-SF recreational <br />facility that included meeting rooms, offices, restrooms and a snack bar. A lighted parking lot for <br />437 vehicles; two lighted, irrigated baseball fields; an irrigated soccer field; and storage for both <br />athletic equipment and scooters were also included in the project. <br />County Parks Renovation. Project manager for a variety of renovations, upgrades and ADA retrofits <br />to Miami-Dade County parks. The work varies from new restrooms, parking lots and after-school care <br />facilities, to multipurpose rooms, jogging paths, gazebos, stadium bleachers and new kiln rooms. All <br />interiors, restrooms, sidewalks and parking areas were upgraded for ADA compliance. The parks <br />included Lake Lucerne Park, Larry & Penny Thompson Park, Miller Park, Olinda Park, Coral State <br />Park, Soar Park, Ojus Park, Norman & Jean Reach Park and Buccaneer Park. <br />Crandon Park Cabanas, Key Biscayne, FL. Rehabilitation and upgrade of 1950s beach cabanas. <br />Involved integration of six facilities into new main sewer line. <br />Tri-Rail Station, Opa Locka, FL. Architectural services for a two-story rail station with Tri-Rail <br />Authority standards and value-engineering analysis. Design conformed to Opa Locka’s historic <br />Moorish style and boasted two towers rising 70 feet. <br />Bird Lakes Park Recreation Center, Miami-Dade Park & Recreation Department, Miami-Dade County, FL. Project manager for complete A/E services for a 3,000-SF, one-story recreation building <br />including kitchen facility, snack bar, restrooms, meeting room, mechanical and storage areas as <br />well as a lighted parking lot and an 800-SF covered open area. <br />Eureka Villas Recreation Center, Miami-Dade Park & Recreation Department, Miami-Dade <br />County, FL. Project manager for complete A/E services for a 3,000-SF, one-story recreation building <br />including kitchen facility, snack bar, restrooms, meeting room, mechanical and storage areas as <br />well as a lighted parking lot and an 800-SF covered open area. <br />Marva Bannerman Park, Miami-Dade County Park & Recreation Department, Miami-Dade <br />County. Remodeling of a poolside recreation center and retrofit for ADA compliance. <br />Bayshore Golf Club Storage Facility, Miami Beach, FL. Project manager for complete A/E <br />services for an unusual bilevel structure, which is essentially a parking garage for golf carts. The <br />10,000-SF, $1 million facility harmonized with a new clubhouse. Disguised as a habitable building <br />with arched openings and windows, the facility was designed to meet the City of Miami Beach’s <br />stringent review boards. <br />Mini-Rec Center Prototype, Miami-Dade Park & Recreation Department, Miami-Dade County, FL. A/E services for a 2,300-SF prototype building to be applied throughout Miami-Dade County. <br />It includes a meeting room, bathroom and an office as well as interior and exterior storage spaces. <br />Drainage and sewage was also extended. <br />Vineland Elementary School, Miami-Dade County Public Schools, Miami, FL.
