AECOM RFQ No. 15-04-01
Landscape Architecture
Landscape architecture is both art and science.
Blending the two disciplines through site planning and
design helps create dynamic, people-oriented spaces
that are engaging, layered, functional and visually
pleasing.
Parks Design + Planning. The AECOM team is one
of the few firms in the country to have a full-time
parks and public space planning and design team,
fully dedicated to greenways, parks and public realm
projects. Local examples include:
• Coral Gables Parks Master Plan, Coral Gables
• Heritage Park, Sunny Isles Beach, Sunny Isles
Beach
• Miami Dade County Parks & Recreation Master
Plan, Miami
• Miami Circle Park, Miami
• Ludlam Trail, Miami
• Tropical Park Cultural Arts Center, Miami
• Doral Dog Park, Doral
• Veterans Park Master Plan, Delray Beach
• Old School Square, Delray Beach
• Boynton Beach Congress Avenue Park, Boynton
Beach
Streetscape Design. The AECOM team views
streetscape design projects as opportunities to
create community identity and a “sense of place.”
AECOM’s urban design and streetscape experience
is represented by projects throughout the United
States and abroad. We are experienced in the analysis
of urban development patterns such as specific
district plans, street corridor design, community
open space networks, and urban form organization.
While pedestrian and traffic safety concerns are
very important, we also seek ways to support the
larger goals of community identity and economic
revitalization. Our design expertise includes not only
streetscape design, but also signage, wayfinding, and
environmental graphic design. Wherever possible,
we capitalize on unique resources such as natural
features, parks, cultural centers and historical
precedent to establish identity and create a true
sense of place. In short, we understand all that cities
can potentially be. We have a long track record of
successful built projects that have not only fulfilled
their design goals, but have also stood the test of time
from a construction and maintenance standpoint.
We firmly believe that the product of our efforts is
a successful built environment, not simply a set of
drawings.
