City
Manager Russo said yes, we have worked out an agreement with them and the water
company since it is a public water company. They are helping us when it comes to, and we
are doing this on a regular basis, checking with the Property Appraiser's Office that
Homestead Exemptions are accurate and legal. We are comparing the roster that the water
company has which if it is a rental will have a different address than the Property Appraiser's
records. They are fully cooperating with us and we have already had three(3)situations that
were resolved, and we felt there was a good chance to work cooperatively with them, and we
have been trying to do that for a couple of years now. Commissioner Aelion said being that
FPL has undertaken the same approach of the monitoring of the meters, is it something that
FPL has already approached you on? City Manager Russo said no, he thinks the reason is
that they are a private company, they don't have an obligation to provide us with it.
