<br /> When Hurricane Sandy swept through the East Coast in October 2012,New jersey was significantly
<br /> impacted,suffering more than a billion dollars in damages.Witt O'Brien's responded by providing
<br /> debris monitoring and FEMA Public Assistance program consulting services to several local
<br /> governments in New Jersey affected by Hurricane Sandy.
<br /> Debris Monitoring
<br /> A Witt O'Brien's Project Manager was operational in the State Emergency Operations Center
<br /> immediately after the storm passed,to assist with the Office of Emergency Management's response
<br /> and recovery coordination efforts and to assist local governments in identifying immediate needs
<br /> and performing Preliminary Damage Assessments.
<br /> On each of these projects,Witt O'Brien's provided project management and field personnel to
<br /> monitor and document of the removal of hazardous waste and materials,private property debris,
<br /> white goods(including verification of Freon recovery),stumps,hanging limbs,trees,construction
<br /> and demolition materials,and loose vegetative debris.Several of these projects also entailed
<br /> electronic waste,recycling of materials, roll off container monitoring,sand removal and the clearing
<br /> of drainage systems and basins.
<br /> Our services also included collecting and managing the large amount of data generated,providing
<br /> each client with daily status reports on their debris removal projects and preparing daily and
<br /> weekly reports for the New jersey Department of Environmental Protection,which oversees all
<br /> debris removal operations affected areas of the State.The table below provides a summary of each
